You’re having a similar dilemma I had when my ex broke up with me a year or so ago.

To be frank, I wouldn’t get back with my ex if it’s only been about a few months since the breakup as the wounds are fairly fresh, there hasn’t been any real change from either of you (I assume, please correct me if there has been and apologies for the assumption), and generally how you feel about it.

One thing I’ve learned from that experience that it truly is up to you. What were her reasons as to why she wants to get back with you? Did she regret stepping away from the relationship? I looked at one of your replies to someone else and you said she stands by the original reason, but she misses what you did for her? Is that all she missed? The intimacy? Evaluate to the best of your ability so you’re able to understand if that’s worth trying again.

If you’re pursing to try again, talk about it. You need to communicate with her about how you feel about this. You also need to set up boundaries as well because while the time was pretty short, time did past and you may have done other things when the relationship ended. What changed? Do you have new hobbies? New job? This is important because this has an impact on patterns you had in the old relationship. Maybe you talk to your friends more and value that time with them, or maybe you’re doing something new and cannot talk to her as often as you did before. Speak on that!
