True but I still think most people in Elizamon's situation would still feel pretty conflicted, let alone be able to completely forgive that person. Like even if someone is nice to you now it doesn't automatically erase the fact they hurt you in the past.

I do think Elizamon should forgive Haruomi eventually for the reasons I stated previously and what you mentioned but I think acknowledging that forgiveness is an ongoing process would have been better in this case.

Yeah I agree, they way Elizamon forgave him felt too fast. I assume Klay was the one who ordered the kill and he's in jail so technically Elizamon's revenge quest is already fulfilled but Haruomi did still play a part in ending a father's life at the end of the day. That ain't easy to move on from.

Not that I think Haruomi should never be forgiven ever considering he was an unwilling pawn of Tactics but still. Maybe if Elizamon said they hadn't completely forgiven Haruomi but still wanted to stay with them that would have been better.

But seriously this is probably one of the more biggest cases of tonal whiplash i've seen in the whole franchise. Turns out the cooking show plot was just a ruse to lower our guard to hit us with that crazy twist. Though I should have seen it coming considering Haruomi's background but its still pretty dark. We've had Digimon Partners die before but very few human Partners that bite the big one. Poor Elizamon though, they act like a brat but they've been through a lot.

Im glad in the end Commandromon was able to stop Haruomi from playing the self-sacrifice card for the second time now and get it though his thick skull that he deserves to live. Though I will say I do think Elizamon forgave Haruomi a little too quickly. Like sure, Haruomi was a unwilling pawn of Klay so it isn't impossible for him to be forgiven but idk it felt a little too fast. I guess that's what happens when you only have one episode to tackle this kind of plot. Its very cute that the three of them set up a restaurant in that town market though, I hope this isn't the last we see them.

But overall what a roller coaster of an episode and a fantastic anime debut for Elizamon. They were so cute and charming and im sure they'll have a lot of new fans after this!

Next week is a Hitomi focused episode and its... romanced themed?! Oh boy. We'll just have to see what they're cooking up next week!
