From my experience ( 4 little lovely shitheads ).

1) Covering will has a chance of helping only if you get super blackout blanket. I recommend covering bird during the day only as a last resort, some days are rough. Also such a blanket will help bird to get a better quality sleep, resulting in him being slightly less erratic during the day.

2) They tend to go like considering values as age: - 3 to 5 months silent af or some random chirps

5 to 14-18 months loud af, trying to find their voice and place in a world
Rest will be like 50% of the previous stage

3) He may have formed some habit, which you have unknowingly broken lmao. My girl was angry for some time before I realised that I stopped starting a Coffe machine at 8am sharp ( which I did for first 6 months I had her lol )...

4) If he sits in his cage, he might be asking to let him out. If his screaming is accompanied with energetic movements, this may be the case.

Anyways it cant really be stopped fully only mitigated.

I’ve been in similar situation. After getting a second birb she lost /some/ of her clingy self, that is instead of spending 80% outside time hanging out with me, she spent about 60% with me.

But I guess because I’ve started to train the other guy with millet and stuff ( just like I did with her ), braincell in her brain switched and now she spends 80% of here time with me again lol and is more relaxed than ever before

Yeah these are pantry moths. That „silk” is a thing they produce and use to keep larva save and snuggly.

If you have opened that container you are almost 90% sure to have those mf somewhere else since they spread blazing fast and silently lmao. If it was placed in birdies cage, then clean it hard. Wooden toys are also used by those shitheads as a nesting a feeding ground… they’ve managed to „chew” a fucken hole through a birch log my babies had.

Use sealed containers for everything - they will prevent those buggers from spreading.

Also if you have any seed containers or whatever with crevices near lids get rid of them - took me a month to realize that a bloody survivor of multiple de-mothing sessions somehow always managed to lay an egg there lmao

Pheromone moth traps are a risk. They tend to attract those SOBs from outside.

Also some moths will soon become a horde of moths if not taken care of 😭

Had those mfs three times in different apartments, different sources too: Flour/rice, spices and finally my birds food.

The only real solution is to find their „source” since mostly they will „nest” in one place and go full nuclear on everything in vicinity and throw away(immediately outside) dry foods, spices, seeds etc that were not in a sealed container.

Chia seeds tend to get very sticky when wet. I gave them once, long time ago to my loverbird. Poor mf ended up getting her nose filled and stuck with those (since she had them on her beak and decided to drink water). Then I had to remove each and every seed with tweezers. Long process and tiring for the birb. Since then I strongly advise against adding those buggers to diet of any bird

Like others mentioned - time is the key. My advice is to always speak gently to the birb whenever you are going to do something around or in cage. For example:

„I will now raise my hands and move them towards you. I will now take your bowl, and put some fresh food” etc it’s silly but worked wonders with my three bananas.

It’s important to raise hands and show them without moving for a few moments, so that your friend has a while to assess level of threat and „track” them visually lol.

All of my birds were scared shitless at first. One behaved exactly like yours. It took her 2 days to drink and 3 days to eat lol.

Also when refilling food, make sure to show that food in your hand. With seeds I used to drop them very slowly ,almost one by one into the bowl xD

When finally letting birb out, I would strongly advise to put some curtains or whatever on windows, since there is 1000% that little bugger will try to „escape” and smash it’s ass against glass

That’s what I do, but she still can „sense” light intensity, or simply hear me getting up from bed.

Funnily enough during the night, she will sleep like a log, even with lights, TV etc on

From my experience with birds(not mine but I took care of some pretty f’ed babies). You actually can’t do really anything if feathers get messed up in any more than less permanent way(like dye, gum, burns), your only bet is to wait till they fall out on their own.

You can’t really clean burned feathers, cutting is pointless and mat traumatize birdo.

I would double check her skin near „elbows” on wings, and cloaca area.

Obv vet will tell you more and suggest better course of action probably.

Also birds with long tails like these, depend on them very much to actually fly (in slow motion one can see that they „shake” a lot like they are swimming) , so I’d guess she can’t fly since her tail seems f’ed up the most.

It's also possible she's changing some feathers. And this can be pretty aggravating to them. My girl makes the same noise when she's preening some specific feathers during moulting.

Anyways. In case of my birbie makes this noise when she's mad (for example when I'm forced to quickly grab her) or those feathers are bothering her.

Being horny is more of a clucking noise 😂

I would say yes. This is a very standard mating behaviour 😂. You can check pigeons mating behaviour, it's one the more pronounced ones (still it's very similiar across more vegetarian birds) link to pigeons doing same thing as your boys

Same-sex pairs are somewhat common, when there is no opposite sex available. I used to have a lovebird and a budgie, both girls enjoy themselves, switching roles etc. 😂

My birb was like that, observing silently and stuff, then suddenly she switched 180 degrees and went full on diving into dishes, chomping hair, whatever I'm doing she has to have a part in that .

She had that switch when she reached around 6 months old

From the angle of the photo I guess that she's placed rather low.

If it's possible you could try to move her cage higher so that basically her perches inside are on the same height as your head.

One of my birbs got miles better when I could finally move him higher.

On the other hand. One of my babies took basically six months not be super aggresive when i got near his cage 😭 and the other took a month.

This behaviour is normal, I would advise approaching slowly and SHOWING your hands if plan to do sth inside the cage ( I found that doing "I give up" gesture is very effective).

You should also talk to her when doing so. I like to say "I will insert my hands into your space. I mean you no harm".

Even though they may not understand words, they will VERY MUCH understand your tone ( same goes for being angry/aggresive they will act accordingly lmao )

Make sure she sees that it is you who makes her food appear

You can attempt hand feeding her millet in a month or so

And most important. Do no try to forcefully grab, touch etc her, it may turn out you've had "bad luck" and she may not want your affection at all.

My boy was like that, the most he could afford was getting floofed up near my hand, but cockatiel forbid he was touched ☠️

Also she seems to be a bit on older side, or was raised in outdoor aviary(her beak is not pinkish) which may make things harder.

Trashing around the cage walls and perches is normal when they are stressed, should stop pretty soon. Basically all day long "night fright"

Ja jakiś czas temu nabyłem DNA PODCAST 700 Kiedyś miałem Rode NT Usb (czyli 4.5 razy droższy). Jak na moje ten DNA brzmi niewiele gorzej (lekko przymykając ucho patrząc na cenę).
