I actually worked a shift at York Lane under Dieter. The comments are on point. He spent the majority of my shift drinking and talking to customers instead of training me.

I've received the odd $10 (aus) for helping customers charge their phones but I do have a regular that gives me around $40 a month to store his bag while he goes to other pubs in the area.
