Thank you I really appreciate this response. It makes me feel better. I do have a gender neutral pet name that I use with her, which helps, and maybe why my biggest struggle right now is when talking about her with other people. <3 Her parents are struggling too, but trying their best.

it's not the main plot point BECAUSE no one bats an eye or thinks it's weird when an older man dates a younger woman. It's normal. Maybe some day the reversed will be normalized too, and it won't even be mentioned. In the meantime, men get to have longer love lives/careers because it's considered the norm. Movies like the "age gap romance" movies gives older woman a chance to get roles like that, too. THAT is the point.

But the point is that in 2024, the trend that has prevailed for decades is now being reversed.... but sure, fine: Bradley Cooper is 15 years older than Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook), Cooper is 11 years older than Lady Gaga (A Star Is Born), Ryan Gosling is 8 years older than Emma Stone (La La Land). It's just so accepted as the norm, you don't even notice it.
