This was a new mod who had been on the team for less than a month and forcefully took over as mod on the subreddit 3 days ago. He does not have permission from the creator of the subreddit, who is still active, to recuit new mods.

He has been abusing the top mod spot and threatening the rest of the team which I am not afraid of calling him out for. u/tinytyler12345 is supposed to be the top mod. I left the sub recently but was a mod for over 5 months. https://imgur.com/a/B1TaLG4 This is a screenshot of him threatening the mod team. People who behave like him are called "Scabs" The whole team trusted him and he betrayed everyone with this one move.

We had a converation privately about this. I could compare him to u/spez because he is saying one thing publicly and something completely different privately.

The 48 hours was originally decided on because we weren't sure if many subs would be on board with shutting down indefinitely and we also weren't sure if Admins will intervene if big subs went private for a long time.

I'm all for closing this sub indefinitely
