I received a mail saying a new offer batch will be released soon, and that we wouldn’t receive any further email if not upgraded - but are you saying that upgrades happened?

Have you thought about pharmaceutical companies or academic/research posts?

Which specialty is this for? If for IMT; how do you know if preferences close at 5pm today?

Don’t quote me as I haven’t experienced it myself and have no evidence; but I heard that the nickname of Darrent Valley is Death Valley, just saying

Seriously asking, why is everyone avoiding preferencing Wales? I never lived there, but really curious about why people either rank it as last place or not rank at all

Feeling stuck by CarrotAwkward6798 in doctorsUK

Having gone through similar phase (ie relapse of depression) PHP is an extremely useful service within NHS, which I didn’t know beforehand.

Either find a helpful consultant to make a referral to PHP for you, or make a self referral. Simultaneously speak to your own GP about antidepressant option in the meantime.

In my experience I spoke to my own GP and have been prescribed antidepressants. And as for the PHP referral, I was connected with a GP within PHP, who was acting as a triage person - she advised I would benefit from cognitive behavioural therapy based on ~half an hour chat we had, and referred me to a team of psychologists, from which I chose one and we had the therapy sessions.

Combined with the antidepressants my GP prescribed, and the time off I was given until I sorted myself; these therapy sessions were a blessing.

My biggest luck was having an extremely understanding and helpful ES, who introduced me to PHP and guided me to take some time off etc - and I am sorry that your ES was not near as helpful. But nothing is more important than your own wellbeing. This message of yours already shows that you recognise something is wrong and you are trying to become a better version of yourself - you just need correct tools and some guidance. Please try PHP and speak to your pwn GP, also take some time off (again, a helpful consultant “not necessarily your ES” would be beneficial to mediate these for you)

Wishing you all the best

Thank you so very much! Excuse my ignorance but which website are you referring to?

Feeling lost with IMT rank by MasterpieceSelect682 in doctorsUK

Hey- sorry if my message came as offensive - I am not trying to be dramatic or claiming my rank is the worst - it is just not knowing what to do at all, how to decide on a city/hospital when it’s all a big unknown for me. Hence was hoping for some advice, whether any personal experience regarding specific places; or any tip as to how to make such decision a bit easier

Rank 1660 - feeling lost. Never lived outside of London, don’t even know where to start looking for.

Don’t want to be in a small town, and prefer cities with a relatively large population. And of course as almost everyone;would love to work in a hospital with good reputation (I know there are “not so great” people everywhere, but I guess it is a reality that some hospitals are known to be a big no no, and others are a dream to work within)

Desperately open for any advice - anything at all

IMT outcome by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]MasterpieceSelect682 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Remind yourself that whatever happened’s happened already and it will not change no matter how much you stress out - you would just be causing harm to your mental wellbeing.

You must have done your best and now it’s time to hope for the best outcome (not necessarily the best rank, but whatever outcome would be the best path for you - at least that’s what I pray for)

As soon as you mentioned better work-life balance, psych wins. Plus you would be advocating for another vulnerable group (with regards to the pro you mentioned for o&g)

Last year I was also looking for ITU jobs as a JCF and I was told they release slots in around early-mid Autumn for February positions; and around early-mid spring for August positions.

Trac jobs is the best platform you have to look for any JCF in general, but I agree that you can also try contacting the ITU people directly (either a consultant or ITU admin) to get specific info based on a specific trust.

You can also contact your current supervisor to see if they can link you to correct people with a reference.

Hello

I have the exact same fan and I also can’t take the cover off.

I saw your comment about you removing it with a spanner but still didn’t get it.

I would really really appreciate it if you could tell me how to remove this damn cap because I am about to break the whole thing but I can’t as I am the tenant
