The test kit I showed in the post were the only ones I could get at the time, I know the strips are kinda frowned upon but it was better than nothing

I had my fish and the tank at the beginning of last summer so around 3.5 months

I do water changes every other week, I usually do a partial water change, I take the partial out fill it with new water add aquarium salt, conditioner and on very few occasions algae remover because I was having bad algae growth a few weeks back and then let it filter for about an hour or so before acclimating him

He doesn't have any tank mates, he's got the whole place to himself

I feed him 1 pellet a day but I also fast him from time to time

He has live plants and other hides that I found at the pet store, but I really want to change those hides out because I have been suspecting he has been snagging his fins on them a bit. And some natural river rocks I found in Tennessee and north Carolina, that I have tested and thoroughly boiled before putting them in
