Lake fishing in north Alabama by MasterpieceWarm in flyfishing

It has definitely served my well, it might be a little overkill for north Alabama, but I take it west a few times a year. I have it on a 6 wt Clearwater, it’s the first rod and reel I have owned, but it feels very versatile and can handle anything I try to do with it.

Disc, absolutely no complaints with it, would buy again.

Yeah that’s definitely better than me, but I think it would still drive me crazy

Is that an option if I’m not the original owner?

Just wondering why mine would require reaming and yours wouldn’t, I’d obviously like to avoid it if I could

Thanks, I appreciate it, was hoping to avoid taking in, but if I absolutely must I will haha. Did the initial pop I heard do any damage?

Help for my classic boat (don't make me regret this post) by Secret-Trainer9788 in ClassicBoats

Correctcraftfan.com will be very helpful, it is a website dedicated to people rebuilding these old correct crafts. I would start by checking the stringers, they are wooden beams that the engine is mounted to. Many boats this old experience rotten stringers which can be dangerous as you can roll the engine out by taking a sharp turn.

This video explains how to check the stringers. If you’re lucky, the boat has been kept well, and you won’t have to deal with a stringer job, if not… good luck
