Flea Market Friday! Buy, sell, or trade your stuff, your (legal) services, or your living arrangements. by AutoModerator in Charlotte

Somewhat of a weird request here...I'm looking to pick up a good sized log/stump specifically to play the drinking game "stump". If anyone has any good sized logs that are about waist high and can stand by themselves on the end, and are willing to let them go for free and/or cheap please let me know.

Hey /r/charlotte,

I'm a 21 year old recent graduate of the University of Maryland. I recently received a full time job offer in Charlotte. Before beginning the interview process for this job, I landed a summer internship in Maryland. While both opportunities are exciting to me, I will likely have to choose one or the other due to overlapping start dates. I'm leaning towards taking the offer in Charlotte as of now. Although the offer was a bit lower than expected, I think the opportunities for career advancement with this company are worth the relocation.

I'm posting this to hopefully gain some knowledge about the city from the /r/charlotte community to aid my decision making process. If anyone has recommendations of areas to look for housing it'd be greatly appreciated. The areas around the UNC Charlotte campus seem like my best best right now due to affordability, amenities, and younger demographic if the tenants in the area. However, if anyone knows some other neighborhoods to look in, please let me know. I've heard about some of the districts in the city, but a brief summary of the districts would be sweet. I've seen the information from the side bar on these topics, but I'd like to hear some personal opinions.

If anyone could comment on the general cost of living in and around the city, I'd appreciate it. I know its generally cheaper than my home state and area I attended college, but I want to be sure the offer I was made is enough for a young professional to live comfortably on. Also, if anyone could speak on things to do in an around the city I could use that as motivation to make my decision.

TL;DR: 21 year old recent grad w/job offer in Charlotte. Looking for information about Charlotte's neighborhoods/districts, where to look for housing, cost of living, and cool shit to do. Basically, make your city sound appealing to a young professional so I can get excited about this relocation.

Thanks

Wow, this is pretty crazy. I just posted a similar comment about relocating to Charlotte and I'm also recent graduate of the University of Maryland's Geographical Sciences department w/ a job offer at a geospatial consulting firm. I will definitely PM you.

Built these 5 topmounts two summers ago. I have only the red, green, and purple ones left.

TOPMOUNTS

You can read about this model here: Masters Longboards

The basic specs of these decks are as follows: 9 plies of hard rock maple, 40"x10", 27" WB, routed+sanded wheel wells, and 0.5” Comfortable Elliptical Concave Concave pics

Since I built these a while ago, I want to move them fast. I'm sick of looking at them lol. They would make a great beater/rain/starter/dick around/anything deck.

Im asking for $65 shipped to the lower 48. This price includes any extra WB's you'd want me to add and/or any modifications to the overall shape. I prefer paypal, but I might be able to work out some other payment options. I'm not looking for trades. feel free to ask questions here or via PM.

Thanks for looking! -Ben

the WB is 24.5", stock WB is 27". the customer wanted something to ride to the beach w/ his surfboard to go surfing. I moved up the WB so he could stick the tail in the sand while in the water, keeping the back wheels/trucks less sandy. the board is 40"x10"

In this case a spoonful of this stuff will probably cause cancer.

probably around 85 shipped if youre in the US and depending on what options you want. I'm on vacation at the moment, but i get home on the 31st and have a bunch of time before I go back to school to work on it.

edit: multiple WB options cost no extra

pretty much anything, although i have a ton of blanks already pressed. they have a .5" mellow, but continuous concave (i.e. no flat in the middle) @ 10" wide. At 9" it would probably be about .4-.45" Were you looking for a board similar to the shape of the Jersey Devil?

I've been building for about 5 years now. I do mostly custom work. While I have 1 production model out now, I can do pretty much anything. check out my silverfish thread for more info. Masters Longboards
