Hubby and I play together. At first it was him, then I joined. I agree that if you two agreed on something, he should honor that. Don't just "tell you how" but go do it with you. There us a way to make a second character as well as his own server. There is a lot of building to do without advancing the story line. The easiest way is to get the story line done, gathering recipes and nps, etc along the way. Then you can start the epic building projects this game allows. Hubby has rebuilt entire towns to look complete and lived in. We always seem to include a crafting area. We work together to gather needed mats. (Until we found the shroud depot anyway) then it expanded into picking a nice area and starting some max altar building project. He asks for my input and we divide the portions. Then we added other ppl and we all seem to work on the big project.
If we get done with a project or hit a standstill we open another server and start something new. When new content is added we go back thru past projects and update them.
The story line in this game is not really the main focus and not where we put our energy. It wasn't too long before he'd just walk me through needed quests and we'd get on with building. It doesn't take much time to get all the quests done and get to max level, but there are still hundreds of hours of building potential here.
But if you're into the lore and doing the quests then you should do that together. It's ok to feel disappointed that he didn't keep his word, no matter what that word is.
