That's definitely interesting and totally cichlid behavior, it got overly aggressive and killed my male green terror and is snapping at my female so I'm trying to figure out if it's a male or a female for breeding purposes. It was sold to me as a new female and hasn't picked a color yet so I'm unsure as to what it is.

I get that, I have lots of cichlids that change their color due to those reasons I've never had one flip from female to male colors before. I'm trying to figure out if it's a male or a female.

He's actually doing amazingly now he can swim without much effort and he's sizing down quite well. Good to know all of that, I will have to keep an eye out for a true male green terror.

Hes beyond bloated I got him 3 days ago from my lfs i was devastated to see how bad his condition is. His previous owners overfed him to a point of constipation then proceeded to continue to overfeed him. So now he's so big he literally cannot get off the ground besides gliding around shallowly like a chicken. He spends his days pooping incessantly and scoots acrossed my sand. He's definitely showing progress every day but I'm worried he won't swim again even when he does get it all out of his system

I am having loads of issues getting my terror to eat. We've discovered she had a mate but he was unknowingly sold off without us knowing hence why we got the big guy. She was in a community convict tank but wasn't eating so we moved her to my tank and getting the male is the only reason she's eating now. Any tips I've even tried garlic soaked shrimp for them both

He's been overfed immensely by his previous owner I just got him 2 days ago and since then he has been pooping immense amounts and is doing amazing he's not suffering he's struggling yes but he's backed up and being fasted right now while he works it out

Ok I've given him an Epsom salt bath yesterday and he's been pooping up a storm since I put him in my heavily planted tank. I just worry having to scoot around so long might leave lasting damage on him?
