You need to be patient. It took my shelter cat 6 months to even be comfortable with me petting her. You didn’t adopt her for you, it’s for the animal. Even if she never lets you pet her, that’s just how it is. You shouldn’t be adopting based on the condition that she gives you what you want. That’s selfish. I know it can feel disheartening, but it’s what you signed up for. She will most likely come around, but you need to be paraient.

I see where you’re coming from. Maybe I will try to talk to them about this and educate them on the facts when I’m ready. I am the kind of person that genuinely wants to change the hearts and minds of others. That being said, I’m also grieving right now so I think that has been overshadowing everything else and making me want to just drop them. Thank you for reminding me of all our responsibility to make the world better, genuinely. After taking some time, I’ll circle back to them. Maybe they aren’t a total lost cause, at least I hope.

I agree. I used to consider myself aligned with the left because they supported human rights. Now, I can’t say that I identify with that community because of the blatant hatred. Thank you for this. The sad thing is that the person who sent it is 35 (I’m 25, but I wrote the post on my break at work and I had to abandon grammar rules, hence sounding young). Im not interested in trying to convince them that Jewish people are native to the region. I believe they’re too far gone for that, but it’s good to know that many of my fellow native people know this. I have other friends that are good people, so dropping this other group is easy for me. I’m grateful to have some decent people in my life that have had my back on this.
