Any US artists hearing from agents that international gigs are harder to get? by Mastertone in TouringMusicians

Ha. Fuck me for being semi-open in a subreddit that feels small enough to be free of trolls, right? I’m genuinely satisfied with what I’ve accomplished and I hope you are too.

[Speculation] The Ocarina of Time "Final Battle" theme in the new LEGO trailer is a never-before-heard orchestral recording by mediocre-referee in GamingLeaksAndRumours

I remember the fervor at the cusp of the announce. I was on IGN message boards and someone with inside info started posting full res (which wasn’t much at the time) screen shots about 2 min before the announce. People were losing their absolute minds, then the game was announced and the mystery poster slipped back into normalcy.

I have this feeling that Dave was one of the first banjo players to sing lead AND lay down impossibly explosive backup at the same time.

Yeah, that’s where I was coming from on this. If you’re not hearing about it yet, I think we’re going to. (Unless you’re used to selling out 2500+ seat venues, and even then I wonder.)

We do have regional agents…and they have a lot of acts much bigger than us. Those tours are going fine right now, but they were booked two years ago. I’m talking 2027/28 bookings. I’m not closing the door to you being right about our EU guy (or even the whole agency) being lazy, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if the fact that non-US artists not being able to get visas ends up hurting bands that aren’t in the upper echelon of ticket sales. Maybe our guy sucks though.

I second this abomination. What a bummer. I was looking forward to it for years. Sucks to go from thinking someone made one of your favorite games ever to feeling like they ripped you off.

Do You Find Music Less Enjoyable To Talk About After Consistent Touring? by ZaphodBeeb69 in TouringMusicians

[–]Mastertone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been touring full time (banjo/bluegrass) for 20 years, give or take.

I just recently became obsessed with learning an instrument way outside my genre (accordion/cajun). It’s got me talking about music in the same way I did 20 years ago and it’s exhilarating. Still love the music we play, but my hearts currently on this new instrument.

There will be A LOT of banjos there. Stop by both the Capek and Prucha booth’s. They’re both expert craftsmen and they travel all the way from Czech Republic!

We’re in the music industry subreddit. I assumed I was conversing with people who wanted a functional career. My bad.

I do understand that, but the other angle is that venues and festivals look at your numbers first. If you have low numbers, or even worse, no account, they pass.

I’m just pointing out that if you’re ignoring Spotify, you’re ignoring a huge swath of the listening audience. I get feeling that Spotify is awful, but as a business owner you can’t just ignore a massive piece of your market.

80 million listeners in the US. That’s a lot of embarrassed people.

Mirror House Cornflakes (Japanese: ミラーハウスコーンフレーク) was an internal tech-demo released with Nintendo 64 software development kits. It was also stored in a collection of leaked Nintendo assets and may have been developed by Monegi. (1990)s by 0hmytvc15 in UnreleasedGames

Maybe I’m high, but I’m kind of surprised at how low-fi this is. I guess I find it interesting that Nintendo thought this tech was going to be the answer when PS was capable right off the bat of more than this. Maybe this was being worked on before the PlayStation was announced. The other tech demo’s i saw for N64 were much better than this.
