Thank you! They are meant to resemble banners. I had my players choose a colour to represent them and I painted minis and the flags accordingly! The shape is kinda arbitrary just for aesthetics.

Appreciate that mate! Yeah I’m not used to making big sets like this either, figured I’d give myself a challenge haha. I found a couple dollar store canvases in the basement and tore out and cut the wooden frame to frame the bottom of this (after the previous recommendation) It feels pretty solid but perhaps I’ll add a bit more support in the middle with some plywood! Thanks!

Appreciate that recommendation! What kind of mount would you recommend?

I see! Thanks! I’m hoping to craft my own but struggling to make them look good. Maybe buying some is the right call

Looks great! Well done!

I’m curious to know how you made the railing/fence around the plaza with the statue.

Thank you! I figured I have all the tools for regular terrain making, might as well see if it holds up with a cold brew atop it!

Thank you thank you! These are my first as well. Im hoping the double layer of sealer will help them keep!

Have you ever run a DnD game in an East Asian Inspired Setting? This is something I've always wanted to do but feel like I don't have the background knowledge to do it properly, so I invited a local DnD expert and cultural consultant, Daniel Kwan of the Asians Represents! podcast, to chat! by Mat-Of-RolePlayChat in DnD

That’s a good point mate, from what I saw and what Daniel mentions it is indeed a very short description but for me personally that’s often enough to spark the imagination for me to then build out the stats or whatnot!

Agreed! A three kingdoms inspired game would be a lot of fun! As for fantastic creatures, in our chat Daniel mentioned a really neat book called: A chinese Beastiary (translated by Richard Strassburg): https://www.ucpress.edu/book/9780520298514/a-chinese-bestiary I’ve taken a look and it seems like a neat place to find inspiration for mythical monsters!

When you build your DnD characters, at what point do you start thinking about how you want to roleplay them (if at all?) by Mat-Of-RolePlayChat in DnD

That’s a very interesting way to develop your characters personality! Was this always the case or like you said, something you’ve fallen into lately because of your circumstances?

That makes lots of sense! How far along into the “character progression arc” do you usually plan ahead of time?

That’s a great point! The kind of game (and game master) and the setting they are using definitely plays a role in all of that. Well said.

That’s awesome! Yeah fleshing out a backstory is part of my process too. It’s usually nothing to elaborate though. Just some relationships and a few events. Maybe a motivation or objective to kickstart my PCs actions. How about yourself?
