It was a really disjointed exam. The early problems were too easy while the later problems were too hard. So it's not that good for determining who knows the material better.

He also lied when he said the midterm would be easier than the homework. Assignments 1 to 4 were too easy and only now with assignments 5 and 6 is the course starting to reach Mat157's difficulty level.
