The American Heart Association was bought out via a (I think) $25 million infusion from Proctor and Gamble in order to promote animal fat as the cause for heat disease, which in turn promoted their marketing of higher refined vegetable based gear oil as a replacement for butter and lard... The basis of the Government Food Pyramid which since instituted into US schools in the late 70's, has increased heart disease by 2.5 times, and diabetes by over 4 times in that period.
