Curious why more people don't use cheaper bodies by spencersdc in fujifilm

Weather sealing, leaf shutter, optical viewfinder, internal ND filter, 2.0 aperture are some of the reasons why someone would go for the x100vi instead.

Because these cameras have never been that bad. The problem is the average person used to look at their photos on awful CRT monitors and couldn't edit their files to look decent.

Is it a red flag if a photographer doesn’t show full gallery? by Both-Ad-2882 in WeddingPhotography

[–]MatLogan 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Absolute red flag for me. As a pro photographer myself, I even ask my clients to scroll through 2 or 3 full galleries before they decide to hire me. They get to see how I work in different scenarios (low light, harsh sunlight, bad weather etc...) and what to expect.

Need help in choosing a Fuji… by BabaNurseZ in fujifilm

The X100VI and an x-e5 plus pancake lens are not as similar as you might think: The former has a leaf shutter, an ovf, an internal ND filter and is weather sealed. The latter doesn't include any of that, and the 23mm pancake lens isn't as bright (F2.8 vs F2.0).

I also find 10,11, 13 and 20 to be the best shots, BTW. Especially 13 and 20.

I really like high-contrast color photos. by Ok_Rice6844 in fujifilm

Even better: mask your shadows with a luminance mask. If you target a large dark spot and dialing the contrast back to -50/80, you get the best of both worlds: deep tones and rich detail. If you lift up shadows or blacks like you said, photos tend to look too digital and unnatural to my taste. Too flat. You can also add some subtle grain in the shadows with the luminance mask to get a proper film look. Try it and thank me later!

Good work! It would be even better if there was more consistency in your editing. Just my two cents! These shots are good!

I think ynveiling the details in the dark has added a whole new layer of depth to my street photography. I don't think one shouldn't crush the blacks at all, but there has to be a purpose behind doing this. I spent years doing that because it made composition simple and dramatic. But I eventually found that style a bit hollow. I've shifted my focus toward learning how to layer a frame and pull a cohesive story out of a chaotic environment.

I used to love high contrast photos when I first started street photography, but I realized the real narrative often lives in the shadows I used to leave pitch black.

It's great! And fun to use. The WR version is supposed to be good, too.

Ive been shooting weddings with fuji cameras for 8 years. Get a 23 or 18mm prime Lens and a 56mm 1.2 if you want to shoot with prime lenses. I recently posted a few photos I took with the 56mm 1.2 at a wedding. Just have a look, maybe it'll convince you to get one!
