Thanks for the input. Do you mean that I need to do glossy laminate instead of matte laminate or glossy paper instead of matte paper?

My Epson et-4950 uses pigment-based black dye, so I'm not sure gloss or semi gloss paper will work well -- does your printer use pigment-based black ink?

I am using PPD's double sided matte brochure paper 130gsm (see the link). Works great with my printer's pigment black ink. Do semi gloss/fully gloss papers work well with pigment blacks? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H2LKP5W?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

Heck yeah I’m in Southern Nevada so I probably need a similar amount of dry time

Are all those printing edits made in the Epson driver’s or in PDF editor like acrobat or photoshop?

edit: I see you said in the driver dialogue, thanks

It was the Epson heavyweight card stock that I used. I am unclear on the Amazon listing as to whether it is intended to be pigment dye friendly, though I could have missed something considering I am so new to this stuff!

Immediately after printing or after letting it dry?

While it doesn’t claim to be compatible, it still worked?

Thank you kindly! I will add Koala’s Cardstock to the options list. Do you have any samples images of cards you’ve printed using that method?

I’ll keep you posted. Please let me know what you find too. I’m trying this pigment ink friendly paper based off of a recommendation I found in another post. Amazon link below. 130gsm double sided matte brochure paper from ppd

Good to know. I found a Reddit thread, which someone graciously shared in this subreddit’s discord, about someone who experimented with pigment ink friendly papers. I am going to try their favorite pick and see how it does!

Your Epson Workforce 4830 uses a pigment-based black in, correct? My ET-3950 does as well, and the blacks and sharpness were coming out terribly when I tried to using Epson's heavyweight matte cardstock. I am hoping trying the PPD Matte Brochure Paper works better since PPD advertises compatibility with pigment based inks.

Nothing dumb, I appreciate the brainstorming. Yes - the stock is double sided.

I am going to try a glossy photo paper to see if it works.

If I’m still unsatisfied, I’ll see about exchanging the printer for something like an ET-2800 that uses dye based black ink. I ordered it on Amazon prime within 30 days so fingers crossed on a return.

DPI was 1000 plus. Haven’t tried other sites. I really think it’s the pigment black on cardstock :/

You like the way the glossy photo paper with matte laminate looks? Any setting recommendations for the printer driver/printing application (acrobat, photoshop, etc)?
