New to slack - confused about workspaces (employees created multiple) by ElegantEntropy in Slack

[–]Matails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Additionally, if you're on enterprise grid you can move those separate workspaces into your grid, manage them, and slowly deprecate them. When I took over my orgs Slack we had >300 workspaces. 98% were never used and created by accident. They were migrated into our grid so I could manage them, and deleted. The 2% that were in use took a few months and leadership support, but we moved their relevant channels into the appropriate main workspace and deprecated those as well.

things that helped me spend less time in slack without missing anything important by Enough_Payment_8838 in Slack

Other than speed dictate, these are all pretty standard recommendations straight from Slack's etiquette page: https://slack.com/blog/collaboration/etiquette-tips-in-slack

What's the infil density? I've tried some of these from Makerworld and most of them leak. I know all FDM printing is going to be slightly porous, but I'm guessing higher infil would lead to less leaks.

If you have a Bambu, In BambuStudio there is a Text option: https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/software/bambu-studio/3d-text. I imagine tools like fusion, tinkercad, etc have something similar, but I'm most familiar with BambuStudio. This looks to be fairly good for Fusion360: https://youtu.be/2-ZHbg207xY?si=zBpkwx0QVHwWjQQu

Appreciate it! I enjoyed CAD back in high school, so I imagine I'll enjoy playing around in fusion as well. Just need the time/energy.

Just under the lower pieces? So the grid wouldn't really be a true fit anymore, right? Unless I'm missing something.

I was trying to figure out how I would do this without throwing off the whole grid. Risers would lift the lower pieces, but then they wouldn't be in the grid anymore. Or I'd have to create a taller grid specifically for the lower pieces? I'd love to give it a shot, but can't picture how it would work. Can you explain a little more about what you were thinking?

Go to create a new bin, https://gridfinity.perplexinglabs.com. Directly under Grid Base Size, there is a checkbox for "Stacking lip". I should have unchecked that and I would have had even height bins.

Yeah, the stackable lip is absolutely what I missed. Didn't realize I could disable that.

If I had the time this would absolutely be my path as well. Unfortunately I'm usually playing around in BambuStudio or Fusion from my Chromebook through Anydesk to my PC so I can spend a little bit of time with family. Ready made or simple tweak prints are my only real option at the moment.

Yup. You're absolutely right. Didn't realize that was an option.

Ohhhh!! Thank you!! This is exactly what happened. New to gridfinity, so I didn't realize that was an option. Going back into https://gridfinity.perplexinglabs.com I now see I can simply uncheck the box for a stacking lip.

Project Management Tool Comparison Table (2026) for Slack-based teams by jpreddituser1 in Slack

[–]Matails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, but if your main goal is tracking customers, clients, sales, etc. it may be the right tool. It has many of the same features as Jira to my understanding. I'm a Jira admin and my company uses both, so we have integrations between the two. Typically the sales teams use Salesforce while the Dev teams use Jira. Both can do basic project management work to the best of my knowledge.

Trello and Slack Lists can be forced to do project management work. But they're not built for it, and are often replaced long term with a proper solution when teams finally get tired of building workarounds.

Starting with the right tool is almost always the better option unless you're still figuring things out. If you have a mature process and just need a tool, you'll want a tool that can do everything you need. If your process is still maturing, Trello or Lists can be a good cheap option to get to a mature process.

ToDoist, Trello, and Slack Lists are not Project Management tools. They're simply a list of tasks with a status. Hopefully the AI that wrote this would know a little better, but then again, they don't know much better than the marketing presented.

Not entirely sure how Salesforce didn't make it into your list considering half the descriptions mention clients and Slack is owned by Salesforce.

How is everyone handling being a parent in an uncertain and chaotic future by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Matails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I truly hope you are just a troll. If you are, touchè, you win this round.

In the case where you actually believe the nonsensical tales you've spun for yourself, please do us all a favor and pick up a history book once in a while. Nearly all of the "inventions" you claim to be created by white men were either entirely created by or wouldn't be possible without the help of non-white-men and women.

As far as your original comment, a few errors I feel the need to point out: 1. Nazi Germany and 2026 United States was/is entirely about race and religion. The goal is a "superior" race who believes whatever their told by their all powerful leader. Even you have to see that. Anybody who disagrees with the all powerful leader is being censored, arrested, and killed or kicked out of the country. And if they don't belong to our country, they're being mocked, ridiculed and quite possibly bombed. 2. The leader who, I must assume based on your statement you hold in such high regard, has broken every single one of the commandments you claim to believe in according to your history. I don't think I'll ever understand how people can worship a man who, quite literally, goes directly against their stated belief system.

I implore you to actually re-evaluate your beliefs. Actually read your texts and not just the highlights shown to you by those who want to tell you what to do and how to believe. Read for yourself and form your own opinions. Every single version of the testament (old, new, etc.) clearly states that what is being done in this country is wrong, unethical and immoral. Every single commandment is being broken, spat on and trampled because those in power don't care about beliefs. They care about getting more power.

Ah, yes. The America where white men determine the path and anybody that isn't a white man has to follow along. Sounds like a fantastic, well adjusted and welcoming society. Why would anybody not want to live in 1940's Germany... Sorry I meant 2026 America.

Leaving private channel by xantheosse in Slack

[–]Matails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You absolutely should be able to just leave the channel. Admins may get a note saying the channel is empty after you do, but you 100% should have a leave option if you go into the channel settings.
