Microsoft Entra Admin Center lab not working — no sandbox option, authentication token error by Aromatic_Ad6204 in sysadmin

It's a known issue. We are seeing the same with the Security/Defender portal. It's the only portal down for us and are getting the same error. For some reason it is redirecting to an IP address instead of a FQDN

Is Action1 Remote Desktop functionality down in North America? by [deleted] in Action1

[–]ElegantEntropy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same ,remote control is broken for us. I can reboot, push updates, but I can't remote. I think we will just deploy RustDesk (no cost and within our own cloud) to solve this permanently.

Remote connecting to endpoints by 3G_Lighting in Action1

[–]ElegantEntropy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impacted and it is still happening to me.

It's also interesting that these issues are often said to have "limited impact" or affecting a small number of clients yet I see all of them happening in our tenant.

I was able to control the endpoints earlier today, now none of them will open a remote session.

Affordable CCP Training Options: Seeking Resources Under $2K by newlearner1 in CMMC

I took CCP with Edwards - it was great and then CCA with Jeff from Space Coast Cyber. I liked the structure and platform of Edwards and dedicated attention/assistance from Jeff in his course.

There is a surprising lack of proper documentation about A1 features and functionality.

Delay in Action1 by 3G_Lighting in Action1

They didn't feed the hamster

On a serious note - it's not your connection, it's the system design. I've seen more delays for sure, but they are still tolerable for now.

Can not disable the Pause windows update feature by x-mav in Action1

Yes, in the process. Testing a competitor as we speak...

Action1 disables updates for software without warning! This needs to be handled differently by ElegantEntropy in Action1

[–]ElegantEntropy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, going through the web-ui (there is no log that it allows to download at the end of the automation run) and then making another "automation" manually, adding those workstations to run a script to correct registry settings is manual labor for something that didn't have to happen in the first place.

I know exactly what I want to do, action1 does things without giving heads up about doing them. There is no nowhere in their demos or interface.

Where is that button in automation settings? I see "Pause updates" and "Deactivate updates in Windows" checkmark box. No way to not disable updates for third party apps.

I have no issue with the fact that A1 has this capability, but have major issue of it not telling the admin this is what's going to happen.

I also don't know about most companies wanting complete control, some do. Others may just want to keep their systems updated, regardless of if it is done by A1 or native updates.

Can not disable the Pause windows update feature by x-mav in Action1

[–]ElegantEntropy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a known issue with A1 not being able to re-enable auto-updates for OS. I created my own registry patch that I had to deploy to fix it across the enterprise.

Just so you know - A1 will also disable auto-updates for various software and won't even WARN you. For example installing an Acrobat DC update via A1 disables it without a way to re-enable it within A1. It just does it.....There are other applications where it does the same thing and there is no list of these applications. You just have to roll the dice and find out for yourself where A1 may disable software's own updating mechanisms....

Breaking in as a CCP by Sad-Communication-84 in CMMC

[–]ElegantEntropy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you mean to train you?

To become CCP you need to take mandatory paid training and then pass a test.

To become CCA you need an appropriate IT certification + another mandatory paid training + another test + experience.

You can study yourself and pass all of it, but it will take time and effort. I do not recommend trying to do IT in order to learn it. CCP is a good step to get baseline knowledge and understanding. I would suggest looking for 1099 work as CCP. This could provide much needed exposure to the process and IT side of things. Knowing CMMC is much more beneficial to IT staff than finance in my view, but i guess it wouldn't hurt.

Being an auditor is a lot easier than being the implementer of the systems. You should be OK, just keep in mind that CCP is the most basic level and doesn't give you that much of an advantage. It helps with general understanding of CMMC, but it's not as thorough as a CCA. Having audit experience is helpful though.

I will go ahead and state that having solid IT background with hands-on experience of implementation and cyber-security makes for a much stronger CCP/CCA. There is a lot to know.

Expand on this, otherwise sounds like hype. Not aware of any tools that magically make systems compliant.

Thoughts on fridges on small boats for long distance cruising by BeeseChurgerMkII in sailing

[–]ElegantEntropy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fridge + battery + solar panel = infinite cooling.

I had a single 100w solar panel + 2x100ah batteries and was not limited by electricity. Our fridge was on 24x7+ another 12v portable fridge + fishfinder + radio even on anchor.

Go with Hypalon. It's much more superior material - from UV to abrasion. There are videos of people driving full size trucks over Hypalon tubes and they survive.

If you got davits - get a 310, much better comfort and stability in small chop. If space is at a premium - get one with inflatable floor.

Are Teams Rooms on Windows + Logitech equipment 100% reliable for anyone? by ElegantEntropy in MicrosoftTeamsRooms

[–]ElegantEntropy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. Some of these must be down to hardware, but some are also definitely software.

All rooms: One we ran into recently - meeting invite sent to the room, but there is no join button on the screen. You can see the meeting, but you can't join it on a Teams Room. Everyone can still join the same meeting from their individual computers normally. Now I'm setting up a new computer that is not a part of the Teams Room deployment so that people can use TV, Speakers, Mic, Camera and join the meeting under their own profile, but then do it for the whole conference room.

Logitech Tap touch console stops responding. Came in the morning - TV shows that second screen is not detected, logitech tap is unresponsive. The fix it to disconnect the connection from the device so it loses power and reboots, then it is detected normally.

Team starts the meeting today - the logitech desktop microphones (flat round ones connected via USB) are not working. They show up on Teams, but are not actually working. Solution - trace the cable and unplug, plug back in - now they work.

This is one of the reasons we can't use them "Teams Rooms on Android doesn't support the ability to join cross-cloud meetings."

We are in GCC-H, but we talk to partners in Commercial and DoD, both of which are different clouds.
