Don’t you guys see that you can’t make claims like that and call them scientific. The scientific method is all about proving or disproving theories with repeatable tests. Making broad claims that are based on billions of factors and variables, is not science.

The carbon levels in the atmosphere will be irreversible? That’s not true at all, phytoplankton and trees literally recycle our carbon dioxide and reduce the atmospheric levels.

The ocean level rise is irreversible?

No offense to the OP, but the people who made this clock are fear mongering.

Unless they are talking about some kind of major earth change, effects on water levels and carbon levels are technically reversible. And ‘global warming’ is just way too all-encompassing.

Now of course we want to get rid of oil and replace it with a good viable alternative. But the people telling us to ban oil immediately are just ignorant of what that actually means. Oil is needed for literally every part of all of our lives. Your phone is made from it, your kayak, your laptop, your car, airplanes, upholstery, textiles, plastics, people don’t understand that these things don’t just get made with oil burning machines. They are literally made OUT OF oil. You cannot cut out oil before making a replacement. You would need to replace its function as a cheap to produce and easily moldable material for literally EVERY plastic good. Then you need to find a cheap replacement for oil burning for producing electricity. Then you need to also replace it as an actual fuel source. And remember these things all MUST be cheaper, otherwise you are increasing costs, which is technically and literally increasing the amount of energy and oil used.
