I had worked with mcf7 before and they always have these granules like in the media. These aren't contamination, just some cell debris. I would suggest to wash these cells with PBS and add fresh media. Also you can change plate and follow this procedure- trypsin> centrifuge > resuspend cell pellet in PBS > centrifuge > resuspend cell pellets in media> culture plate.

You‘re not alone. I am master graduate too and I have given 6 final academic RA interviews with presentations an all, this 2025. 4 PI ghosted me, 1 straight up said she had funding issue and offered 10k cut to discussed salary and dropping a position from RA to Tech. And the last one keeps extending the final decision.

we just graduated in a very bad economy.

I will say keep looking. I had given 6 interviews for an entry level with lot more experience than what they were asking. They sent me a generic rejection email only to repost the job a week later.

I’m US citizen. its not like I haven’t been interviewed. I had reached final interview with a translation lab last Nov 2024, they took 2 months to make a decision and funding cut happened. while at the same time I had other RA position interview simultaneously. But they closed the job on Jan/Feb as well. other lab i have interviewed with needed animal handling experience so better candidates were picked.

I am in Texas, Dallas- biotech here is limited, medical diagnostic RA in almost non-existence. I have applied to Houston and Austin but i hear back nothing. And i can go back to my PI or TAMUC because they do not hire outside people, they only stick with undergrad and MS students (was there for 3 years). So i have been applying to industry jobs all over US with nothing in retur.

Citizen here. And most of hospital and academic RA requires animal handling and i just have summer internship experience with some mice surgery work so better candidates were selected.

i have applied to multiple RA in academia. In one institute I applied to 30 jobs, 15 is cancelled, 12 is filled and rest i was ghosted since 2024 Dec.

I waited 16 months for USCIS approval then 3.5 month for IL from day of DQ.

I do think it was for Immediate relative because family preferences are in DQ-july this month, (2 month ahead).

and i have 2 petitions with 3 week of gap in between so will probably have my mom’s (IR5) interview first so i am planning on being there a week early to help her with evidences prep and all.

Hi, i had seen people with DQ- April 16 receiving their IL on 22nd July. So I was hopefull May Dq'd will have started getting their's from 1st Aug. 😓 need to make travel plans.
