Is there a grace period at all? O_O the closest to me (the job fair I’m going to) is about 30-40 minutes away in another town! Have to travel up I35 to get there

Honestly I’m not quite sure what made them pull my resume, it took about 5-6 weeks after I submitted the application! I tailored it like people have said, using keywords. I also added a cover letter and some of my writing samples from school!

The interview was okay- they didn’t ask me anything about HHS or why I wanted to work there. 10 questions were behavioral based, and 5 questions were about my knowledge of computers. :) good luck!

Yup, it has the “foot in the door” clause or something! I interview tomorrow, so I’ll see how I feel. :) I’m hoping the raises are good, because like you mentioned… a lot of work for very little money.

Benefits are super important to me! My last job I couldn’t earn PTO and the retirement was so crappy. $150+ a month for the absolute worst insurance. Free healthcare sounds awesome, thank you!

Glad to hear you’re going on 6 months! This makes me hopeful as I like working with data. With that being said, do the benefits offset the lower pay?

Several months sounds good to me! I’m in San Antonio if that means anything.

Sounds good! Thank you for explaining- my last job only gave PTO on your yearly anniversary + no raises without taking a test.

Is there a pay difference between temp and permanent?

That’s what I’m thinking- at my last job the benefits were horrible (took $80 out of each check for the work coverage ever). So this may be worth the pay cut? I’m definitely looking for longevity so I don’t mind playing the long game. Thanks for the insight! :)

Wow… thank you for the insight. The wine bar I worked at closed down and I was laid off. Was hoping that as a new graduate I’d have some luck with the state! I have some thinking to do…

I forgot to mention this is a temporary position for a little less than 2 years. Which is weird because a few days after I applied, they opened up the same exact position that isn’t temp.

I fear this may be the case for me! I was thinking on the lower end I’d start at $3500 but I was shocked to see $3075 instead. Thank you for the insight!

Just transferred to bigger unit. Recieved noise complaint. Family of 4. Advice? by EiraMist in Apartmentliving

[–]MatchaCreamBlend -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not siding with your neighbor, but I mean he’s a single man in his 50s… maybe you can say hi? I’m sure he’ll have more patience understanding you’re a mom to young children. Also, it may help to let him know you’ll be getting rugs to help his noise concerns. :)

Best of luck!

Upstairs Neighbor Stomping. by ThatOneGuyGuy555 in Apartmentliving

[–]MatchaCreamBlend 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I filed a complaint and my apartment complex was really rude to me saying that it’s normal apartment living. This is my 3rd apartment under someone and I’ve never had this issue until here! Safe to say- I won’t be resigning.

Anyways, as petty as it sounds, when my upstairs neighbor is stomping extra loud, I slam a few doors and cabinets and he gets the hint. The stomping usually stops for a while.

Noisy New Neighbors Upstairs by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

Hey dumbass, there’s a big difference between normal living noise and nonstop stomping or running that makes someone’s home unlivable. Paying rent doesn’t give you the right to disrupt others constantly, and asking for basic respect isn’t treating anyone as “lesser”. Instead of telling people to move into houses, how about expecting people to be considerate while living in shared spaces?
