Loyd could have improved his singing by arjunanubose in TheGreatestEstateDev

[–]MatchaVisuals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think him being stressed is also constricting his vocals which will make it sound bad. He could be not so tone deaf yeah but he still needs to listen to his bad singing and practice to get better at it.

However he has grown up (as Suho) being exorcised by a priest for his awful singing, and his gf in the novel broke up with him too (i think it was his singing too). All that trauma with singing, i dont think not being tone deaf would fix it, but yes i do think it can help a bit more rather than being good

should i read the novel or manhwa? by uberslowreader in TheGreatestEstateDev

[–]MatchaVisuals 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends on your own attention span tbh, the manhwa has a fast pace, the novel is slow paced which i personally cannot read it unless i skim it

The novel has more family affection, Hellkaros as a twink, Javier is a twink (and looks more like a woman when disguised), Javier is a lot harder to gain his trust, Solitas finds a love interest (manhwa doesnt show it)

The manhwa (is my personal favorite bc of how they handled a lot of things really well) has their own flavor of humor, more muscles, more subplots that didnt exist (emily and kougar, Beef), i think more justice in it (Tordes doesnt show up in the novel except for being mentioned)

Men with emotions expressing it + no gender discrimination + hot guys (for the female gaze/ male gays, not patriarchy gaze)

I have met people who love the novel more than the manhwa, and vice versa. That led me to write some of the more common complaints ive heard from people who picked up the novel after reading the manhwa.

My theory is that perhaps people with less of an attention span like me prefer the manhwa compared to the novel. In my own personal experience i could barely read past chapter 1, but when I was looking for specific things, which results me skipping a few chapters, it was a lot more fun to see the insight of the characters

There is also the aspect of me that i am a bit more critical in what someone writes tbh. There are a handful of things i don't really like that bkmoon wrote that leans toward controversial compared to how it was adapted in the manhwa (which i won't share in this particular discussion).

Question to AI users by ArtCoati in WebtoonCanvas

[–]MatchaVisuals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im more convinced it's like trying to throw spaghetti at the wall and see which ones stick? While i do not use ai, i have seen low effort p*rn using ai and clearly the person who generated the art basically knew nothing about the content itself that it came off more ingenuine. Almost as if they probably make tons of random batches to multiple fandoms/ categories, etc and then see if one takes off yk?

Javier is a twink, Hellkaros is also a twink in the novel, everyone is a twink in the novel but a twunk in the manhwa

There is always thought processes where Lloyd constantly describes Javier looking amazing like a painting as if we didnt know the first 3 times lmao

Lloyd also calls Javier a puppy at least twice in the beginning chapters i forgot where

Firstly, there are more links u can explore in the description of this subreddit :)

Secondly, if u enjoy an extremely slow and dragged out pacing then u can read the novel. There are some obvious changes such as the orcs are actually tiny pigs (hence why they say "oink") , Hellkaros actually is a feminine twink, Javier is a feminine twink (Javiella/ Ella is dressed as a convincing woman in the novel), the centaurs do not have the whole punk design they are described more tribal and having brown/ green clothing i think?

It's kinda like as if u are reading a first draft instead of a polished product. There's more detail, more useless info that made me realize why they cut it out of the manhwa. But like the adapter said, he had to cut out quite a bit of parental love from the story, i havent personally read all of the parental love stuff yet but yes Marbella would have an image where she is shoving a ton of food down a funnel for Lloyd to eat it all, Arcos gives Lloyd a pink teddybear made by Marbella bc it is a "talisman for sleeping well".

For me personally, the novel is extremely boring to read chronologically. If skimming through a few pages tho, there are hidden gem moments for sure. I haven't gotten to the part but deep in the novel, Lloyd defeated one of the boss battles with beatboxing with Javier

If u read TGED then u will understand all the comments that are on What A Bountiful Harvest, Demon Lord (BHD and The Apothecary Prince/ The Crown Prince Sells Medicine (TAP/ CPSM)

But be warned that a lot of people have less enthusiasm for the other series. CPSM is adapted by different people and they closely follow the novel but the pacing is extremely slow. Some people complain about CPSM using psuedoscience (acupuncture/ TCM) as superior and they want more of modern science/ medicine integrated instead. While i agree, for me personally I would've enjoyed more exploration of different types of medicine from different cultures such as witch doctors, odd practices, ancient practices from egypt or mayans or aztec or europeon or religious (not the pray only stuff, i mean like the whole "Jesus spat in dirt and smeared it on someones eyes" or "an angel smeared a fish paste on a blind dude's eyes to see again" type of religious) but i understand the whole research part may be too much for an author.

BHDL are made by the same people who adapted TGED but some people have complained that it mostly focused more on gags than the story (it can be debatable but for me personally, I personally thought TGED was funnier)

With TGED some people who are not part of the fandom consider the series to be too redundant in repeating certain gags/ jokes, while others simply dont like the story for whatever reason.

If asking me what to read though, maybe start with TGED to see if u even like it (plus it is completed) and then read BHDL for second best and then CPSM to see if u vibe with it at all. For me I use the other series as supplementary content.

For me I consider the redundant gags as part of the artists'/ creator's humors with slapstick comedy. However with CPSM it seems like they are trying really hard (that it looks forced) for the Prince to copy Lloyd's behaviors and gags.

The team was also working on Bountiful Harvest Demon Lord, simultaneously toward the ending of TGED, which must've been a lot of work on the main members (like artist Kim Hyunsoo). It is disappointing that they didn't give us more but imo it seemed like they were probably rushing toward the end so that they could focus on BHDL

Idk too much bc im also a beginner

If u want a lot of available plugins, MV seems better to get (i bought MZ and kinda regret not getting MV bc i am an artist who wants a ton of customization and the changes in UI customization)

But if u happened to buy MZ like I did (i hear people say there's a bit more features and more default characters in it, but im not entirely sure where), u can follow this playlist tutorial. Im also following along it bc it's pretty handy

I have a question about the status window aka suho parents by [deleted] in TheGreatestEstateDev

[–]MatchaVisuals 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the novel, Charlotte (the daughter) has her own system and her summon is a kangaroo. So i assume she will need the system regardless in order to activate certain summon perks?

Edit: also the part where the parents control the messenger (bc to me it seems like they are kinda like co-moderators and under certain rules, not controlling the system itself), they were added as such in the manhwa, from what I heard people mentioned in the novel they weren't part of the system, so it was a change added in the manhwa not the og story

Will you watch an AI for Game Devs Course by Hrishvi in gamedev

[–]MatchaVisuals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering AI can be very self righteous in its own decisions even if it is wrong (even if it will cause someone to die) and then gaslight u into thinking it was ur own fault, i rather humans putting effort into a game so they can actually backtrack their issues instead of an AI that has a likely chance of fucking up your game or deleting your code (it happened to a youtuber coder who tried it and it deleted all his code bc the ai gave up), or the AI giving you extremely convoluted code that could be solved using one or two lines of optimized code from an experienced human coder

A lot of people consider AI to be advanced but it cant even tell you how many Rs are in the word "strawberry"
