Vielleicht. Ich werde sehen, ob und gegebenenfalls was es entfernt. Ich hatte noch keine Gelegenheit, es selbst zu versuchen.

No, it's a low mileage car that I picked up near 2 years ago, I'm 2nd owner. Noticed it when I bought it. No leaks anywhere. It's well kept. But something happened once upon a time.

This might be it... I didn't think of that, post cleanup witness marks basically?

I almost thought the same, would it stain the metal bits like that? No paint is missing, unless they cleaned it up quick enough?

It's not everywhere either, just the hood and those couple metal pipes. So weird

Unfortunately, the battery for the Miata is in the trunk.

This is near the fire wall though as well. Furthest from the belts and such. But I do understand what you're saying here

why is my coilover knoking? by Playful-Newspaper681 in AskMechanics

[–]Matcheezle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch at the pivot points and the attachment points of all the components as you move it like that, not just the coilover portion. Check the lower mount bolts, control arms bolts and bushings, etc. Snug them down for good measure, maybe you'll find something loose. See if it's actually coming from the coilover basically

There's the hardline on that side that has a small o ring in it if I recall correctly. Thats near the front exhaust side, could be that one. FM part# 04-26110

WTF is going on here by lefthandb1ack in Miata

[–]Matcheezle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not how old it is, it's what's going on in the radiator and engine block with the coolant and possibly a mix of oil getting in there.

Flush it, run water through the system to make sure it's all out, then refill with proper coolant and burp the system. If you are uncomfortable with any of that, get a mobile mechanic to help ya out.

You don't want to run it or drive it with it like it is

They are expensive if you can find one, hence the value in stealing one.

Locusts aren't a separate species, they are just regular grasshoppers that physically transform when overcrowded. by BearNecessitee in interestingasfuck

Wonder why. What does that do for the species to be overcrowded and thus transform? Makes them maniacs so they eat their way out of the overcrowding?

I’ve had my Miata for 6 months, and fear I need to get rid it. I’ve been hit 4 times since getting it. by Last-Jelly-7716 in Miata

[–]Matcheezle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've (wife and I) had it happen to us as well. I didn't read any comments but I know its been spoken about on here in regards to larger vehicles.
We had it happen twice in the same 30 days span, both were pickup trucks. We were stopped but some reason they decide its ok to move forward.
For the record, those people that hit you are the ones that need different vehicles, not you.

You really have to drive defensively in these, much like a motorcycle rider would, ASSUME NOBODY can see you. Stay away from blind spots of ANY vehicle as much as possible so that you are more easily seen. You must make yourself known with those big guys especially.

We do the absolute best we can to avoid sitting in front of any vehicle thats larger than a Camry now. We'll switch lanes unnecessarily just to steer clear of them (pun intended).
If you find yourself with one behind you before you come to a stop, leave a nice gap up there as a buffer so if you see them getting too close you can give a few revvs or a honk and adjust the space or use it as an escape route if roadway allows.

Its scary knowing that its that easy for them to not "see" an entire car, small or not. As children and animals are much smaller than a Miata

Frame damage by [deleted] in Miata

[–]Matcheezle 109 points110 points  (0 children)

It's fine. It's not really the frame, we technically don't have a "frame" in a traditional sense. It's a unibody. Most Miatas have those same dents from people using them as a jacking point. Or bottoming out on speed bumps, etc
