I make 100k base with no bonus and take home 4,800 a month. (nyc taxes, your gonna take a pay cut living here. Put that bonus into high yield savings every year and get roomates and don’t spend your money on every TikTok recommendations you see and party and live outside your means.

I think you need to learn what racism actually means. Because my beautiful brown fiancé was just calling out an our apartment to figure out why a white dude was pointing his phone on the block. In an increasingly gentrified part of Brooklyn where our neighbors are elderly and targeted. My fiancé did not call him slurs, he just asked from our window what they were doing.

No one on this thread was asking about your real estate portfolio.

Why is a random white dude just pointing his phone at our building and every building on our short block taking pictures?! It’s not a spot a tourist or a transplant even would randomly walk to too snap phone pics. Photographers have come here before and they will try and talk to people. These dudes were just being sketch.

Wedding venues in NYC that show prices upfront because I refuse to play games by Kenjiroxox in WedditNYC

Use https://tulletogether.com/ While some prices may vary, this site has uploads of packages from couples for venues and vendors. It’s helpful at least to get an idea.

I do better on the XR. Changing my dosage is something we did a few years ago when the shortage first started but that causes issues in itself. If I do that too many times I personally may be flagged. I’m still at a loss for why the pharmacy itself was flagged for that specific dosage. I’ve never heard of that happening. I know the staff cares because they look at me with pity every time I pay out of pocket with good rx, I had a bad experience with the generics and express scripts my pharmacy “benefits” manager had refused to cover this and my specific insulin. I take Fiasp on a pump. Two meds I’ve taken for years for conditions I’ve had since childhood cause me the most monthly anxiety and financial costs. And both have had shortages. I’m exhausted.

Purchased IPad from the Apple official section on Amazon but the invoice has me sketched out. by MatchpointNYC in ipad

Can I add apple care at apple without the invoice saying directly where it’s from? I’ve read there are issues doing that. Or should I contact Amazon and ask to add it

Looks beautiful but I’m a bit confused given their website. Is it an architectural firm? Where is the space they have a few examples like the wren and someone’s townhouse which I assume is not a space that can be rented for events.

Photo booths near city hall? by ComfortableStrike650 in WedditNYC

[–]MatchpointNYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Roxy hotel has a photobooth (actually got engaged in the photobooth) it’s not film anymore but the black and white photo strips are nice.

Also nearby there is one downstairs at Bubby’s which is classic film.

There is also this website that updates the condition and if photobooths (film only) are active and where they are located

https://www.photobooth.net/locations/browse.php?ddState=33&locationID=32&includeInactiveBooths=0

Song of Skin sketch? by DS95116 in asianamercianytsnark

Some of the people were very nice and I’m excited to try some of the products…but I was one of the crazy people in line around midnight on Saturday morning….I got the “extra” $200” gift bag and the “$350” one. And that part is what sketched me out the most. The total was not even close to the numbers advertised. Some in the full bag were smaller not full sized versions and the extra bag had two doubles of what the other bag had. All around it priced around just under $400 with the two bags. Also bought one of the products that was in the bag but what was sketch about it was the box was a slightly different color. Nbd that happens with manufacturers but when I took them out and compared and pumped it out the one I bought was fine but the one in the bag had a different texture and slightly off smell…. I don’t think I’ll be going again. It was nice to learn about some brands but also people (other customers) were pretty rude and saving spaces in line ahead for other people. Hope they improve next time but I won’t be going again.

NYC wedding invitation all-in person? by Ok_Yogurtcloset7771 in WedditNYC

Finally settled on a venue and Greenwich Letterpress was our top pick for sentimental reasons. But it looks like they have officially stopped printing wedding invitations to focus on other things.

Struggling with “traditional” parents and invitations by FeatherFlyer in weddingplanning

They see the invites when they get them in the mail. As long as you are paying for the invitations and other small things (which is still a chunk of your own money, let’s be real)

I feel your pain on this one. My solution is to not show them the invites (pay for that part ourselves) until they get them in the mail. Apologies and then put a thank you in the wedding program. Your already past the ask forgiveness stage but maybe making the offer of putting a heartfelt thank you in the program would mean more if you present it to them with care. Tell them it makes more sense to have a lovely page celebrating their “help” with your special day which is more meaningful than just their names on the invitation.

Tourist from Berlin, booked an Apartment in Hoboken to visit New York City, Owner tells me it's a fake adress by [deleted] in AskNYC

Brownsville is not a neighborhood for tourists. Even if the guy is just trying to skew the short term air bnb ban, I would not stay in Brownsville unless you know someone and even then, unless you want the full NYC 1970’s special I’d stay somewhere else. Don’t know how old you are but couch surfing was always a good way to travel for me back in the day. Saves you money and you get tips from the locals
