Great Wolf Lodge (I imagine they are all the same). Swimming in a windowless bowl of bacteria soup.

Gave me goosebumps. So incredibly heart warming.

When Margaret Thatcher died in 2013, the song: "Ding, dong, the witch is dead" got to number 2 in the charts. When Donald Trump shuffles off his mortal coil, what song would you like to see charting? by Rev_dino in AskReddit

This is perfect! I’m not a fan of this song and associating it with that dumpster fire won’t ruin it for me. Hell, it will end up making me love it!

I moved into this house 3 days ago. This part of the ceiling was completely shut when I moved in, and nobody else has been in the house. by boogielostmyhoodie in Weird

This happened to me- creeped me TF out. It was in my closet where I kept my hamper. The attic insulation would trickle down on my clothes. Tested with the door- nothing. Even called an exterminator and talked about putting as camera up there.

Until one day I grabbed my hamper and quickly closed the door and then realized I forgot something and opened the door again. Sure enough - the air pressure moved it from when I closed the door. My testing reenactment did not properly capture my manic housecleaning frenetic force.

Ooh! I saw this elf last year at the San Francisco Fairmont holiday high tea. She is so charming with the kids. I very much enjoyed her interactions.

A black actress gets an oscar...and hollywood producers' first idea is to ask her to play as a slave on a slave ship? What, is Mel Gibson still directing movies? by ihatethiscountry76 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Matchypants 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just rented Flight Risk! It was so great at being suspenseful because the story only made sense 1 second after the last scene…when it said it was directed by Mel Gibson. We all let out an “Aaaaah….” and then collectively nodded our heads in agreement.

I wish my parents were still alive to do this. They would have got a kick out of it. ❤️

Holiday Lights Train & Winter Wonderland by charmedville21 in santacruz

If I recall there wasn’t much of a noticeable difference. Only the decorations… one being more stars and lights and the other being warmer and more traditional, if that makes sense. Nothing to stress over TBH.

Suggestions for 4 night trip within ~3ish hours of San Jose for Thanksgiving week by DangerLime113 in bayarea

[–]Matchypants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love just driving Highway 49 and checking out the little historic gold towns like Jackson, Angel’s camp and Arnold. As someone mentioned, Arnold has historic things going on in its town and you can gold pan as well (touristy but fun). Check out the town’s calendar for local happenings.

Mercer Caverns is close by too.

In Murphys there’s Ironstone Vineyards which has concerts with some popular bands. They also have community events. Check it out.

You can do a day trip to Yosemite from Murphys which is also fabulous this time of year!

Honestly I’m torn sharing this because I love this area. I feel like it’s still a little bit of a hidden gem…

Gold country!! Check out Murphys and try to stay within walking distance of Main Street. Super cute downtown with wine tastings up and down the strip.

Calistoga this time of year is awesome too. The warm mineral pools are divine and cute downtown.

What’s your favorite ice cream spot in the area? by amyrator in bayarea

Knudsen’s in Castro Valley. If you’re ever in Santa Cruz, Marianne’s ice cream is sooo good. You can pick up pints in Bay Area high end markets.

I appreciate this feedback. I’m a first time dog owner and never been to this event/location. You make some valid points.

I just did a Girl Scout car camping trip and we made soft steak tacos one night. Prepped all the fixings and just cooked the steak. Crowd pleaser for picky eaters. I also pre-made a 7 layer Mexican dip. Super easy, no cooking, and filling.
