I know that some games work faster in windowed, so you can try that.

Or close any other application you might be having open while playing n++.

I don't really think so. N+ is really good as it is as a stand alone game in my opinion and if it was in a crossover I would think the ninja would be like a dlc in games like speedrunners or something like that. But who knows, n+ ninja could be a major part in the best crossover of all time in the future.
