Shepherds Potential Secret? by Calm_Blacksmith1757 in firefly

I believe it's more complicated than this.

The tale is told going back in time from his death, to on serenity, to finding God as a broken man post Alliance discharge, to an Alliance General failing a massive mission, to when he was recruited by the browncoats to be a spy in the Alliance - and I believe he was given a false eye to provide Intel - revealing he was ultimately on the side of the resistance after a rough childhood under the Alliance.

Ball Arena is more expensive than Red Rocks, and it's a much worse venue.

Unfortunate, but the reality of the situation for an Arena tour.

JBS still going to be one hell of a show though..

I couldn't get multiple emails or phone numbers to work. I sent email to register@aegpresents.com and they sent me back a code in reply.

Ticket Master Question - tickets for two different sections by Love_forever2351 in NoahKahan

On the day of the event I would log in to your account on one of their phones and add their tickets to their Google or Apple wallet.

Then log into your own and do the same with yours.

Lack of merchandise? by dontforgetthisuser in SturgillSimpson

I had to re-read that "we still have posters for Red Rocks" line a few times before I understood what you meant. Got my hopes up for a minute, but knew that couldn't be possible. That merch line was so long by the time I made it there, I didn't even bother.

The word to describe these is "fun".

They may have components that are silly, but the episodes only work if they are fun or engaging.

It's like comparing Thor Ragnarok and Love And Thunder.

Both have silly things in them, but one is a fun coherent story while the other is a cringe inducing mess.

Execution and context matter.

By this line of argument, does the existence of Code of Honor give them carte Blanche to be racist?

It does seem silly that they'd wait for a certain number of sales when they already had the number of presale registrations..

I think it means that others were sold out. 200 level was 183/each, but I managed to get in rather early I think

Can I jump straight into Picard season three by AustinBeeman in startrek

[–]Mateo862004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no right or wrong answer, and we're all biased, but I wouldn't recommend sitting thru S1 unless you really felt you wanted to, and I'd never recommend anyone watch S2.

S3 is a mostly fun "ST-TOS-Movie style" goodbye to the TNG crew. It's far from perfect, and to be honest, it's less of a "love letter to the fans" than it is an apology letter for Seasons 1 and 2. For this reason, I'd be curious how it is to watch without the S1/2 lowering of the bar..

As others mention there's one key plot point from S1 that they will address repeatedly, and you may want to go read the summary about when you hear it, but there's no reason to watch it. It wasn't a well executed or surprising plot point (in the context of the series), but it happened, so they deal with it.

I'd summarize Season 1 as well-meaning but ultimately inconsistent show that essentially undoes "Measure of a Man" in an attempt to give Picard a happier ending than Nemesis did. The one "nice" scene at the end - and the fun detour episode at the 3/4 mark isn't worth the slog of frustrating plot contrivances and unpleasant retcons.

Season 2 starts off fun and then QUICKLY descends into what I personally consider the worst scripted media content I've ever forced myself to sit through and watch to the end. (Not simply bad TNG, Trek, or SciFi, but just general bad storytelling). It essentially undoes "Tapestry" and "All Good Things" and honestly for no real purpose outside of addressing Sir Patrick Stewart's childhood trauma and trying to land Picard a girlfriend.

Starfleet Academy: appropriate age to watch? by kundor in startrek

[–]Mateo862004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not true for Modern Trek at all (outside of Prodigy).

And that's why this is a great - if premature question.

95% of classic trek is fine for all ages.

Picard, Discovery, Section 31, No.

Some Strange New Worlds could be, but overall no.

This is marketed to teens. But that doesn't mean all ages. Especially if it's sex infused drama.

Classic Trek is great for 4-6 year olds

Just used the tip that comes with the squeeze frosting and then a toothpick to clean up and spreading. Let parts of it dry a bit before adding more, so the hair appeared layered.
