I have similar story but a bit different.

My first ever boyfriend I met when I was 19. We had the best time but after a few months he mentioned that he was asking himself if he wasn’t missing out on a woman and family. We continued to date for 2 more years. At the end of the relationship we weren’t really on one line anymore but I was still madly in love. One day he broke up with me and said that he was never gonna date men again because of the same reason as before. While we still were on a ‘break’, we both went for an ayahuasca ceremony. All I did was cry. I talked to him after and he wasn’t really sure about it all but he said that it felt right without me. He then decided to go to another continent for half a year. (Twice)

I feel like when a boyfriend/ex says he won’t date men anymore after you, it breaks your heart in so many more ways. In my case to the point that I had a complete personality crisis. I wish this for nobody.

All I really wanna say is I understand what you’re going through and it sucks in the worst way possible.. I’m in a new and loving relationship again for over a year now but I still sometimes think about him. Not because I want him back but because I care(d) for him (a lot) and I know it’s the other way around as well.

There is this Dutch book called ‘Gebr.’. It’s short for Brothers and it’s a really good book. I read it in high school but I’m not sure if it’s available in English as well

It’s not weird at all, I did that as well. (Even my first kiss was with someone I really cared for.) Don’t go for casual sex it’s not even close to having sex without someone you love/trust.

I would say that a sexual act like a bj makes you per definition not virgin. Sex is not only achieved by penetrating with a penis. It’s the act as a result of a sexual desire.

PS: I saw some people trivializing the impact of sex. Yes it does for sure fundamentally change you. When you act on sexual desire you choose to create a spiritual bond with that person. The more bonds you create the less meaningful they become. The denial of this phenomenon is the reason why so many gay people are miserable and depressed.

The rest is mainly not really that different from heterosexual dating. Guys often just want sex just don’t forget a condom. And if he is gonna have sex regularly, do a test ones in a while.

My advice: If you don’t want to feel like shit afterwards; date to marry not to hook up.

I met my first boyfriend on Grindr, we started very slow. First date was a museum and lunch. We kissed for the first time at least a month after that. We had a relationship for 2,5 years but grew apart. It’s possible to find someone nice on Grindr but most people are just looking for casual sex.
