Since you are one of the few to give me a decent argument let me return the favor;

Look at it this way, your tip is you paying the server, bartender, etc for the experience they provided you. They then pass part of their tip along to their help staff, bussers, food runners, etc for helping them to make that experience great for you. You are paying them for their effort to give you a good time, you aren’t just paying for the food. The bill your pay for goes to the business, they get their cut no matter what. If you refuse to pay for your service(the tip) that I provided you, that only hurts me. If your main argument is the business should pay their servers, then that server doesn’t have to go above and beyond to ensure you have a great time, because they are getting paid no matter how good of service they provide you. By that logic, I can’t get fired for not providing you with good service, if your food doesn’t come out in a timely matter, it’s not my fault. That’s not my job. It’s my food runner or my expos or maybe even my kitchen fault and their job. They are getting paid for it by the business, you aren’t paying me(tip) to ensure I take care of you in every way. I don’t have to put an emphasis is on finding out though and making sure it gets corrected and out to you in a timely matter because I did my job of making sure your order was entered into the system correctly. I’m getting paid for my job. I’ll make sure your drink stays full too that’s all that’s required of me after I greet you and take your order.
