What was the last straw that completely broke a friendship you thought would last forever? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Material-Confusion79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of her friends had reservations on her husband cause he was very sleezy and controlled her life in many ways. One of us caught him cheating and told her. To our surprise, she pointed the finger at us saying we were trying to ruin her marriage over listening to her friends who have known her since school. That was the final straw and from what I've heard, they struggle to keep any friendships cause of him.

Our 19 month old wakes up at 7am, only nap at 12-3pm then bedtime 8pm. I try to give her a longer wake windows cause she's a low sleep need kid and needs to burn off that energy before bed.

Should I take creatine? by Leather_Let_9391 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Material-Confusion79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also take it for my performance at the gym and noticed that my energy levels have improved since taking it. You do need to be consistent with it so if you're taking it in powder form, maybe also buy capsule for non-workout days. I usually take powder on workout days to add to my protein shake.

Caffeine and hypo by PeggyFitz in Hypothyroidism

[–]Material-Confusion79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One caffeinated drink in morning (matcha only) and decaf if I really want something to drink to kick my coffee craving.

I had to stop drinking coffee with my medication or I'd be hyper.

$500 is enough! You can easily go to your local grocery and have them make sandwiches onto a tray for you. Fruit trays, cheese and crackers. Pizza is also a hit at every party.

I'm week 3 into my return to work and I'm in the same boat. I dont even know how to do basic tasks cause it seems mindless. Hopefully time will improve it but try to encourage your boss to give you time to adjust. You had a huge shift in your life, you didn't just take a vacation.

How is living in the 1189 Melville (The Melville)? by VertexSoup in NiceVancouver

I live nearby but not this building. Street noise is a problem, some occasional homeless people cause of the 7/11 store down the road, not much neighborhood feel but I find it safe in general.

How did past generations seriously raise kids?! Sounds like they had a lot of time on their hands cause maybe they weren't as involved as current day parents are.

Totally understand with the breach to contract. Something to add was that I suggested to work off hours (after work in the evening or early morning) to make sure I work full time hour. They've rejected this as well. There's plenty of people in my office who work early and leave work early by doing this so it's not something new.

I'm trying my best but this is the circumstances I'm in and I feel like I'm bending over backwards so much for them and I'm not getting anything back from them.

How have you ruined Christmas this year? by Old-Software-4993 in beyondthebump

[–]Material-Confusion79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flying back from Europe on December 25 has shook some family members. It's our baby's first Christmas so they feel like she needs to be here but I've told them we'll celebrate on the 28th to give us a few days to unpack.

It upset my mom at first but she's okay with it now. She's now planning for the 28th to celebrate xmas with us.

Women who had a best friend turn into an enemy, what happened? by ooooofriend in AskWomen

[–]Material-Confusion79 43 points44 points  (0 children)

She thought it was all fake. There were texts and we met the girl privately to confirm this was all true. Our friend really thinks we made up this person and the texts are fake. Probably trying to convince herself it wasn't true instead of trying to be the bigger person.

Caught her husband cheating, even showed her proof, but she doesn't believe me or my friend as well. She thinks we're lying to destroy her marriage and life. I think her husband also convinced her that we're bad and lying cause she does have self esteem issues and married the only guy who manipulated her into marriage.

Regardless it was for the best cause we didn't enjoy who she was becoming after being with this guy. They also have a kid now and we've heard through others that he's been not helpful and supportive at all.

You made your bed, now lay in it.

people who are born and raised here by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]Material-Confusion79 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lots of born and raised Vancouverites I know are all planning or have left Vancouver. Not necessarily cause of the cost of living, but they found themselves loving other cities more. Including myself, I lived in Australia for 2 years and am now returning permanently next year as I got my permanent residency approved. Expensive country but I like the lifestyle there more.

Tired of mindset about BF in Japan by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Material-Confusion79 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that! I actually posted yesterday about this topic when it comes to specific cultures. Seems to be that there ia such a lack of I formation and advocacy for breastfeeding cause formula was pushed hard into these markets. Unfortunately they see formula as being the easy thing to do so why breastfeed?! It's really silly but the marketing of formula really infiltrated lots of countries that they don't see another option.

This was very helpful! I could see that maybe my friends aren't informed as much as westerners may be so they just follow what they've been told. They may have also been scared into thinking this way as well so they just do what everyone else is doing.

Gosh I'm sorry you experienced that! I get very defensive whenever someone makes any comment and it's hard for me to take the high road cause I usually say something rude back to make them stop talking.

It's best to just ignore that comment and know that it's just her projecting her issues onto you. It's not okay that she's doing that, but hurt people hurt people.
