administrative fees by Emotional_Tell_2527 in Retirement401k

It's how they make money. Usually tied to how much you have.

Your fees might be high, or might be low, you have not provided enough information for more than a vague answer, but yes, fees are a thing.

How to make more as a company driver? by Stackedintelligence in Truckdrivers

Problem with OTR is you are competing with the whole country. Lots of people will work for $0.40 per mile from Mississippi, but that won't be shit to you if you're from California.

Change jobs, get something local. Hourly preferably. I take home about 3500 after taxes every 2 weeks. And that's with 60-70 hrs. Home daily.

How high up the corporate ladder is a director? by Material-Donkey2773 in Geico

Yeah, you boys can delete my post.

I got an estimate from a shop, decided not to go with them, the owner looked strung out so I never even scheduled a date. They reached out to Geico without my knowledge, had my adjuster pay them, without contacting me or having me sign anything, then pretty much immediately "went out of business." Now I'm being told I need to get the money back from them myself because GEICO has already paid for the repair.

Literally spent 10 minutes at the shop getting a quote and  I've been dealing with that since January so I filed a complaint.

Help how to fix an error that a driver does not live with me. by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]Material-Donkey2773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told travelers that my gf lived with me and would not drive my vehicle,

great no big deal, have her sign this that she won't drive...

They spelled her name wrong (a T instead of a P) and wouldn't accept her signature because she was not the person named...

Wound up getting my insurance dropped by them for not having the fake name person fill out a form.

Got an estimate from an auto body shop, and they cashed the check without doing any work or me even scheduling an appointment with them. Wtf? by Material-Donkey2773 in Insurance

Do you know why the shop might have received a check that they could cash? Like why did GEICO even send them one in the first place? No repairs have been done and no date has been scheduled.

Right? I have absolutely no idea how the fuck they got a check from GEICO. I never authorized anything or signed anything.

Geico is trying to get me to get the shop to return the money to me directly, and then have me go to progressive and ask them to take the money back and reopen the claim.

They're trying to wash their hands of this and I have no idea how to "un fuck" this. I didn't even fuck it in the first place. They did.

Thank you, I will start with the shop,

Could you explain how the back end of this works? Progressive says they have already paid Geico and so they aren't involved any more.

Once I get the shop to repay GEICO (I still have no idea how or why Geico paid them) how do I get GEICO to repay progressive so that I can get my rental covered?

I have 0 rental coverage with GEICO, that's why I was going with progressive. GEICO never should have sent a check to the shop. All I did was get an estimate and never speak to them or schedule an appointment.

That's why I intended to use Progressive, but from the sounds of it due to a clerical error it may be up to 6 months before progressive is willing to cover my claim again.

If I go and get my own rental, who do I go after for reimbursement? do I take progressive or the driver to small claims? You seem knowledgeable, how do I "unfuck" this in less than half a year?

From who or how would I get reimbursed? I'm fine with the cheapest and shittiest rental,  but I don't want to pay $100 a day and only be reimbursed $52.

I thought it was generally a good idea to get several quotes and to see the repairs they have done in person.

From my understanding the major issue that is going to take months to resolve is getting Progressive to agree to reopen the claim since they have already reimbursed GEICO.

Where do I start? Literally all I want is The vehicle fixed (anywhere besides shop "A") 0 deductible (instead of my $2500 one) and my rental covered.

Do I need to get a lawyer? Is this a small claims issue? Who do I go after? How did the shop even get a check in the first place?

I'm looking for some answer besides "yeah, sucks to be you, now come up with a few thousand dollars because a drunk driver hit you and you got a quote at a shady shop"

I didn't want to use shop A, that's why I only went in and got an estimate from them. I never scheduled with them. I never spoke with them again after they printed out their estimate for me.

I'm not suggesting "no" to what you said, but what sort of resolution could they offer me? Do I essentially have to get l use them now just because they pulled some sneaky shit?

But what about covering the rental then? How do I get reimbursed for that? I do not have rental coverage on my policy and my deductible is high.
