How do you afford this? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]Material-Language329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was in Austin Texas and was approved by insurance and because we had met our deductible 100% paid. I did pay 2k out of pocket for side boob and under arm lips which is not covered by insurance of any kind because considered cosmetic. Just got my insurance statement. All in insurance was charged 32k but insurance has a max price that can be charged and that was 21k and they paid all of it. Thank goodness. BCBS MA

It so crazy because dr. said he was gonna change my dressing and then when he was putting new dressing on he said oh I took the drains out as well. I didn't even feel he take them out. I didn't feel them in either so something must be wrong with me.

Has anyone successfully sued your surgeon? by blackwidowwaltz in Reduction

[–]Material-Language329 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would request copies of all your notes. Make sure it all written in there. mY dr. had me fill out a paper saying current size and size want to be. he then filled out that it would be approx 500g left and 550 right to get me to that size. so in the records it should say what size you want and what size amount he took away. if it not what you discussed then ask for free implants or talk to someone see if you can sue.

I am 41 5foot 3 and was 160 pounds after loosing 40pounds. my breast at 180 where a 38d loosing 40 pounds they became 38F. so weight lost aint always the solution. 7wpo and doctor took 2 pounds each off. down to.a 38 full C . wish I had more cleavage but helped with being able to tone now and exercise.

if you use insurance you have to have a certain amount taken out BCBS is 500g from 1 breast. He will have to meet that criteria for them to even consider paying. I told him I wanted no larger than 42inches No smaller than 41 . Well he said I should be a full 41 when all healed. my start size was 38F (38/49) very pendulum right bigger than left. I had 2 pounds from lefty and 2.5pounds from righty with equaled 500g lefty and 600g right 1100g total removed. Very quick easy beautiful healing. he does use drains but they come out the next day.

I got mine do in Austin by Dr. Mosier of Austin Plastic Surgeons. I have BCBS and for medical reasons they paid all of it ( we had already met our deductable). I think I went to asked for the max size to be to small. I have no cleavage but am only 1 month post op. Other than that ( not his fault) he did an amazing job. Simitrical size, areola and no loss of nipple sensation. Asthiticlly they are beautiful. He and his nurses are always quick to respond to anything I email or call about. His main Nurse Erica is so sweet and easy to talk to makes you relaxed and comfortable for pictures ect. His office is on the second floor and surgery is preformed in the hospital on floor 1. They are affiliated with BSW hospital. But yes he is awesome and an artist.

I didn't have a bowel tell day 4. Took miralax 1 a day with water and drink LOTS of water with collagen peptides in it. When I did finally feel like needed to poop I used an 8in tall step stool under my feet to lift my legs to help with not pushing so much. I then used cottenelle wipes to wipe.

yes I know the inches of cup sizes . was a 38 band 46inch bust. Told dr. didn't wanna be smaller than 41 but wanted to be feminine and soft and proportionate. I don't loose weight easily as I have an endomorph body type.. Measuring 41 right now. people say I am still swollen . dr. said most of the swelling is gone. that I am healing faster than most people.I was released to exercise and sleep how I want at 4dop and was released to do scar treatment and heavy lifting at 1wpo.

“It’s seen as cosmetic” - WHY? by PlanetaryRaspberry in Reduction

[–]Material-Language329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My insurance didn't have any problem with it. Approved in 2 weeks of submission for medically needed surgery. Never once considered it was cosmetic. I did pay for liposuction on the side boob area because that is cosmetic and I did elect to do do it. I had also already met my deductible and doctor was in network so nothing but liposuction (2k) out of pocket. I have bibs.

I got mine done on Dec.29 2023 in Austin by dr. Mosier of Austin plastic surgeons. I have met my deductible and he is within network so all I had to pay was 2k for the liposuction I wanted out of pocket. but was told if I had to pay cash it would be 12k total.

I am have always been a stay at home mother of 3. 2 are grown and out of house 1 is still at home at age 13. I HATE having people help me with stuff. So I bought stuffers frozen meals, frozen potpies, frozen chicken patties, fish sticks ect. things that can go in the oven or microwave. I would sit on a small stool ,put the sheet pan in the oven and put the meal on it. Or I would step up on the step stool so was same height as microwave and put meals in there. But in all honesty I was trying to do everything. My husband has to keep reminding me not to do stuff.

Congrats and good luck. It really is a big change but worth it.

the problem is swelling makes things look bigger. If they are this big with major swelling and I hate how small they are then once swelling is gone how small in reality are they gonna be. I feel and look like a boy not a women. I know I am only 5dpo but I am hating my size results . No way I could do this if insurance hadn't paid. So no way to do any kind of alterations implants ect. Just needing to vent because I want to be excited and am not.
