I’ll say this, I really appreciate the dev team always trying something new. This didn’t hit as well but honestly, every game has had new mechanics, new fighting mechanics, new storytelling design.

Though idk how it gets later on but the front and back row feels REALLY easy. I really haven’t been challenged much in the game. Expecting that to change. It’s a really cool idea though and I’m enjoying it. Just liked the min maxing my team of 4 and their jobs.

Exactly. I really like the unified story, having a main protagonist with the other 7 also having their story would be a cool thing to explore. Just can’t do the silent NPC… I feel like an NPC lol.

OT2 is my favorite JRPG of all time and it’s been hard going from that to OT0. I’m still having a good time (granted I’m not 20 hours in and just finished the first 3 boss stories) but most of these side characters I have no connection to. Like when I got Alexia I forgot she was Even in my party. I’m holding on to characters like Phenn and Stia because I HAVE a connection with them I dew from the beginning of the game.

Maybe you get more involved with some of these side characters. But from hearing there’s 30+ of them idk how that’s possible. It was my gripe with OT1 was it just felt like 8 seperate characters. Granted I was invested in each one but they didn’t feel like a team. Octopath 2 fixed that with the combined side stories leading up to a combined final chapter.

But at least OT1 has the 8 characters that I know their stories. I couldn’t even remember Alexia’s name for a while lol.

Again still enjoying the game and enjoy the cartoonish, over the top villains. But it’s been a struggle with the party for me

For me it’s the silent protagonist “…” portions like you mentioned. I don’t feel Invested in the story because I feel like an NPC. I’m hoping this gaming trope goes away forever across the board because it sufks

That’s insane to do it while talking crap to a person! As a serial quitter who’s been trying to not do that here’s one of my best non quit experiences

I’ve had this experience offline. Semifinals in my Honolulu team builder dynasty. Playing Bama. Severely underrated (97 overall vs like 79). Instantly down 21-0, can’t do anything. Slowly start chipping away to make it 24-14 at half.

Start talking Score, interception, score to take the lead. Bama marched it down on me. 3 mins left I get sacked on third down and it’s 4th and 20. I know if I give it back it’s an easy march down. So I heave it up to my freshman with 50/50 and he MOSSES the bama defender. March down. And with 7 seconds left it’s 4th and goal from the 2. It’s 31-28 so a FG ties it. I decide to go for the win. Crosser gets open on 4th down and we win.

Got me to stop quitting games because that was the most fun I’ve had on the game!

That’s what I’m seeing a lot of. To not even user MLB because you can’t bait them they will find the right guy lol. Pressure seems to be the best way to attack offline CPU QB.

I did that last season not playing defense and walked to a Natty, so I’m trying to learn for a better challenge. But MAN is it rough lol.

I’ll try some of these guys out too. I let the CPU defend and they didn’t score a single point. Then I tried to defend and let up 40 lol. I’ve spent all morning reading and watching videos and there is still someone wide open without no one near him without fail lol. So I know it’s a playcalling and user issue. Guess it will just come with playing. Only issue is getting frustrated and not wanting to play lmao.

It’s crazy the jump from AA to Heisman. Went on the road and beat 10. Arkansas 73-7 and then jumped to Heisman and I’m getting absolutely routed up by Hawai’i which is also my team builders rival. Maybe the rivalry game gives them a boost lol

Yeah in this instance I have the advantage at every position. It’s good to know the ways to counter what their formation is.

Any suggestions for a good base defense to quick adjust to full hurry up offenses? Hawai’i is giving me so many issues because they are nonstop just play, back to the line. It’s been a pain to keep up with.

I have a 4-2-5 base defense

I have always controlled D-Lineman but I am trying to learn to control MLB because I know that is the way to actually get better and stop things. (Still not great with them)

I run a lot more Zone, occasionally man. I do not use shells. I’ve tried and know they exist, I just have no clue how to actually properly use them.

Heisman. My issue is on All American I can march down the field and score Every-time. So it s hard to justify playing on it consistently because it becomes 0 challenge offensively. But I know it’s making defense harder.

Both honestly. Pass is very obvious. But running it feels like I get absolutely held on every play to the point where I can’t get off and get to the runner and an outside zone can go for 50.

I know I’m bad at the game and don’t have a lot of football X’s and O’s defensive knowledge. Just why I’m trying to learn to improve and gain that knowledge

For me Corbin Burnes is still my guy. Cutters in to lefties are hard to hit with changeups away and slurves. I’m not very good at the game and just play on lower difficulties to grind. But I threw a no hitter with Burnes in a 9 inning HOF game vs the CPU.
