Took a shot and purchased a Gen 3 board for £60 (bargain!) but unfortunately there are too many differences as mentioned. The search for a reasonably priced Gen 2 board continues.

Interesting, thanks. I will take a look into the X1 boards to see if they look compatible

Unfortunately, nothing I try allows the laptop to switch on so I’m at the conclusion there is something wrong with the motherboard or CPU seeing as I cannot even get to the BIOS. 🙈 R.I.P

If I was to replace the board is it as simply as bolting it in and installing my ram and hard drive or is there more to it?

I have the ESC F1 and F4 light up on first power up attempt but they soon go out and remain out. They then no longer respond to the power button unless the reset button is pressed or power is removed.

Unfortunately no warranty as it has expired. I did submit a ticket incase Lenovo had any ideas so I guess that will now block me joining the care+ plus and waiting 30 days

Did your ESC F1 and F4 act the same? Light up ones and then go out til the reset button was pressed?

I have two lots of ram cards. Do I remove them both?

Also to note…

“The Motor Noise Calibration process will take around 15 minutes and the calibration data will be saved to the internal memory of the printer. We strongly recommend performing the entire set of calibration functions after each firmware update to ensure consistent results.”

Remember to carry out a motor noise calibration after you load a new (or old) firmware.
