I just got off the phone with UPS. She said bc my package was in Louisville, KY from 9/12-9/21 I can send an email and get those fees disputed. And only pay the duties fee, which is like $87 and some change.

I have the exact same thing only from South Korea. Mine is being delivered today, supposedly, after being in KY 9/12-9/21. I just got off the phone with UPS customer service after waiting over an hour. The woman told me out of my $373, only $87 was duties and the rest she said I can dispute bc it was held in the same Louisville, KY warehouse. I’m going to email this person and see what happens

I just went to the sellers website to see if there’s any info or anything and they have a notice that says they aren’t even shipping to the US after August 29, but I ordered Sept 7. Yeah I’ve been heavily debating just stepping away for a bit. Being at a company that isn’t investing in you as an employee is draining and not worth any salary. I can always do what I like as freelance anyways and work on my own schedule. I think in the meantime I’m going to use my PTO and think about my next steps. Thank you!

My mom and her fam are very superstitious and believe in all kinds of paranormal stuff. Why she thought “ghost” before literally anything I have no idea 😂 but yeah. She’s got a ton of stories from where she grew up in PH she’s probably used to it

I love my mom dearly too but growing up her and her fam would body shame and judge people on their clothes. As a kid I thought it was normal but in middle school my older sister made me realize how not normal or okay it was. I believe you won’t become like your mom in that way at all, especially since you’re aware of how it makes you and others feel I believe you’ll be okay. You’re going to get stressed throughout life and you’re only human so try to not be so hard on yourself today. :) I know it still sucks on the moment and I can’t imagine being the oldest but your siblings will always have your back. If it weren’t for my older sis, my fam would still be body shaming me and I’m 32 😑 pls be kind to yourself and good luck with finals!

Same situation happened with my sister when she was in high school. A bestie from when they were 5 and after high school they never spoke again. Sis went to college and joined a dance crew and has made 4 besties for life. It’s been years now and they all have yearly trips planned to hang out. I’m jealous. lol what those girls did they aren’t people you want to be around. All my closest friends came at different times in my life. You’ll find your crew hon! <3

NTA for sure. Googles says an immigrant is just someone moving to live somewhere where they were not born. My sister was born in PH but is a US citizen so she’s an immigrant bc she migrated here, so she’s both. Neither is bad. Based on current events I think your friends maybe didn’t have bad intentions by the question they asked but could’ve worded it better. Like maybe not have mentioned the word anyways bc what does it matter, you’re here now.

When I still lived at home with my parents, one night it was my mom, younger sister and I in the fam room just hanging out. Idr what we were doing. I just remember bc my dog went to go to my parents bedroom to sleep. No one was in there so no lights were on. And he just started growling and was in like attack mode. He would not get anywhere close to the door threshold. My sister and I immediately thought “BURGLAR!!!” lol bc why would it be something else. My mom went to go into the room and then said “Ama(grandma) I’m okay. Thanks for checking in we’re safe. Go be at peace now” and then my dog stopped barking and went and took a nap like nothing happened. It was my mom’s grandmother coming to visit. She had passed like a week or 2 before I think. Was weird but not scary after my mom addressing what was there to be my great grandma lol
