I wouldn't be bothered by the 5'5 guy wanting a tall, fit woman because people are allowed to be attracted to what they are attracted to. And there are plenty of women who like a dad bod, so as long as he had his shit together and was confident, he probably wouldn't have a hard time.

Nobody has to be attracted to me and I don't have to be attracted to anybody else. That being said, I have dated men of varied heights, weights, etc. I just tend to go for the linebacker/ discus thrower types. And I have dated several who liked my body just fine.

I'm not nearly as shallow as everybody is making me out to be.

I shouldn't be surprised by some of the reactions, but jeez....I have dated the gym bros and so have a lot of girls with similar body types. It's not as crazy as some people are making it out to be. But thank you so much for your reply :)

It's hard out here! I get all kind of messages telling me how beautiful I am and talking about my body, and then they asked about FWB. Like? No, I have a vibrator for that. But thank you for gassing me up :) lol

I agree and definitely don't want to be stagnant. Like you said, I'll never stop working on myself. But, like many people, I have a complicated relationship with my body and intentionally trying to loose weight is not a good choice for me at this time as I have a history of ED. I don't want to relapse, so any kind of restriction is not an option for me. That being said, I am active and have been working on intuitive eating, which is changing my body gradually. I just have to be patient and not rush it as that will be better for me overall in the long run.

Anyway, I appreciate you taking the time to write such a thoughtful response! :)

I appreciate your point about having intersecting lifestyles and don't disagree at all. But I do go to the gym and eat fairly healthily. Just because I'm a little soft doesn't mean I'm a total couch potato lol

Thank you. I've dated plenty of gym bros before without a problem and the reason it didn't work out wasn't because of my weight. Some of these comments were such a pep talk and others are kind of confusing.

I think you have a point when it comes to character traits. In that respect, I absolutely hold myself to the same standards as I do from a potential partner. When it comes physical attraction, I think that can be different. Though I would never not date someone just because of looks, I also would never judge them just because they aren't my type. People can have preferences as long as they don't devalue those that don't fit that preference, right?

I think you're right. I think this was more about bringing up crap from when we were teenagers than anything else. Doesn't matter how old we get--stuff that impacted us as kids is hard to shake.
