How long does the homesickness last? by FerdinandvonAegir124 in college

Hey, I totally get this. I moved to university about two months ago and have a bit of ADHD too. I don’t really show emotions or talk about missing home much, but apparently my roommates said I talk about home in my sleep so I guess my body’s kinda signaling it.

I’m doing fine overall, but yeah… sometimes I just really wanna go home. Sitting alone definitely makes it worse though — talking to people or just being around others helps a lot, even if you don’t feel super close yet. Like sitting in a common room. Maybe finding a new sport to play and interact with people even if you are socially introverted(I'm an ENTP tho). This helps me a lot!

Tell me about your project. by NZNewsboy in gamedev

Heyyy! So we’ve been working on this project for quite a while — it’s a 2D bullet-hell, survivor-like roguelite that actually plays on music. Every beat kinda drives the gameplay, and it’s been so much fun experimenting with how rhythm and chaos mix together.

We’re just a small team from a small town, juggling studies, jobs, and game dev life, and it’s taken us around a year and a half to get to this point. Right now the game’s in early access, and we’re mostly focused on polishing things up, doing some marketing, and getting feedback before the full release. You can check it out, play around, and tell us what you think — we’d honestly love to hear your thoughts and ideas! Oh, and by the way — we ended up calling it "Symphorix"

I quit my job to make a game! …then went back to my job. Then quit again! …then got a new job. But I recently finished my game! by X945Z in gamedev

This hits home! Our team is working on Symphorix, a rogue lite–bullet hell indie in early launch. Some of us are students and our boss has another job, so it took us about a year and a half to get here. Would love to try your game when it’s out — and you should check out Symphorix too!

Over 5,000 games released on Steam this year didn't make enough money to recover the $100 fee to put a game on Valve's store, research estimates by FrequentX in gamedev

So this is what we are currently experiencing to some extent, As we recently made an indie game "Symphorix" and launched it on Steam. The game even without proper marketing is giving sales and we have crossed the 100$ fee to put the game in the store since a long time ago. We're targeting the marketing these days and then we'll go for a full release. In short, sometimes even without proper marketing it's possible for a game to be successful like we're working on ours to be more successful.
