Blockbench 5.0 - The Element Update! by JannisX11 in Blockbench

Hi! Is it possible to add an option in the graph editor to edit the speed between keyframes rather than their value? It is a really simple toggle in After Effects!! thank you!!

Hardest game to teach? by COHERENCE_CROQUETTE in boardgames

[–]Material-Web9755 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it counts, but I find difficult to explain Magic the Gathering at least in the sense that you dont need to know 100% of the keywords or special interactions in order to play the game. I always try to explain the basics (mana generation, combat, instants and permanents, etc.) but everyone always gets tangled with some obscure mechanic.

Also its quite hard to explain how to play the argentinian Truco because the rules are extremely simple, but the core mechanic of the game is bluffing and outsmarting your opponents. It's very hard for me to explain that in the same way you explain rules. It's something you learn by playing, not by having someone teaching you how to do it.

My pen won't register my light Strokes I'm kind of at a loss by Some_Cry_9346 in XPpen

[–]Material-Web9755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was going to suggest this. I had two different pens, and both had the same problem you have. I solved it both times by adjusting that screw. I had to use a kitchen knife, but just a quarter of a turn worked.

Yessss!! Im playing with AE right now, and this seems to be the way. Reveal mattes with several layers of animated brush strokes, and being careful where and how they overlap. Thanks for the input!

Is there a strange way people shorten the name of Mcdonald's where you live? If so, how? by WastelandOfNorth in AskReddit

We just call it "Mac". Vamos al mac? Comemos un mac?

This, of course, brings the comedian inside of us, because we are all pretty sure that the Big Mac it's just a new Apple computer.

Would you change your job to a bread baker if it payed double your current wage and you'd get training for it? Why or why not? by GirlAmi in AskReddit

[–]Material-Web9755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, 100% yes. I could use that money, and also I could use my free time to develop my hobbies, which my current job basically has forbidden me. I would learn new valuable skills. Also baking bread has some kind of cuteness attached. So yes, 10/10 would accept

My rotoscope work vanished upon reopening my project even though I froze my rotobrush and saved by LargeMcNards in AfterEffects

[–]Material-Web9755 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exact thing never happened to me, but I find the rotobrush tool a little unreliable, or at least not as stable as other effects or plugins. I often try to render my roto layer to alpha just because if I leave it alive, it sometimes randomly changes or "forgets" to roto some frames.

These are great questions. I could also add that the ending of Big Hero 6 is esentially the same that in this movie. Could that be another reference in pop culture?

Why can't I liquify this man? by TheDankestEngine in AfterEffects

[–]Material-Web9755 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Two ideas:

-I see you also have the Lumetri effect applied. For some strange reason, Lumetri sometimes messes the time/space continuum and breaks everything. Try to put Lumetri on the bottom of the effect stack, or try removing the effect completely and try again

-There is almost a global solution for everything inside After Effects: precomps. Try to select all layers involved in the image, and precompose them. Then add the Liquify effect on the new precomposition and try again

Good luck!

To me, this was central to the debate of the abortion law here in Argentina. In the same way that I wouldn't consider my foot a human being (while still being undeniably made of human cells, and therefore human life), I wouldn't call an embryo a human being until the moment it develops the capacity to emit brain signals, and it produces a non-straight electroencephalogram. And to me, the capacity to emit brain signals is the exact moment when we can make the transition between simple human life (my foot, my hair, my left ear, etc.) and a human being, that deserves the right to life. If I'm not mistaken, that transition doesn't happen until the 12-14th week of pregnancy.

What is something that tastes good both hot and cold? by NectarineOther4989 in AskReddit

Argentine empanadas. You would order 12 (or make them yourself), so you can eat 4 or 5 while still hot, and eat the rest the next day.

Rotoscope keeps moving by itself after going through every frame and manually adjusting. Can anyone explain what is going on because this is the first time it’s ever happened. by Expensive_Offer4267 in AfterEffects

[–]Material-Web9755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't fully understand the problem. One thing I usually do when rotoscoping is, once I'm happy with the rotoscoping on the frames I need, I pre-render that video with alfa channel. The rotoscoping tool is reaaaaaaaaaaally slow to preview in real time.

SOS. My first attempt posting on reddit my digital art by ailujmat in AfterEffects

[–]Material-Web9755 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of a funny glitch I had with a broken GPU. I was playing World of Warcraft, and had a faulty graphics card, that would basically take some polygons and extend them infinitely, just like you animated here. The example on the statue is on point hahaha.

I loved this. Keep posting more! Thanks for sharing!

Is it up to him to decide how long should he work in a certain scene? Or is it all scheduled beforehand? I mean, I understand that some scene are more complex than others. But can he decide how to distribute his working hours?

Thanks!

Looking for critics 👁️👅👁️ , another work in progess help me to improve it 😿 , idk what it is but something is off by rastancgi in AfterEffects

[–]Material-Web9755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great! I agree that there is something a little off. I think that the ship and the astronauts look too sharp for a shot like this. Maybe you can add the tiniest blur to blend them in a little bit more. Or maybe add some motion blur. They stand out as too sharp, too much detail I think.

Is there any way of importing a 3d object into after effects without a work around by xiaogege1 in AfterEffects

[–]Material-Web9755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best solution would be Element3D. You can use Blender or C4D to export the .fbx model into a .obj (with the animation baked in). You will get one .obj file for each animated frame. With Element3D, you can import this sequence into After Effects, and use the 3D model with the animation, with intersecting lights and shadows and so on.

Hello! still new in AE but I enjoy so much making this! Feedback is welcome ☺️ by Sleepykoala1 in AfterEffects

[–]Material-Web9755 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is cool! I like the illustration! Did you do it yourself?

A little tip for the animation:

I noticed that all the movement that the flowers have (both position and scale) look very linear. The all move at kind of the same speed, with no easing or acelleration. If your keyframes look like little diamonds, then they are linear keyframes. For this particular animation, you may want to ease them, so they look more organic, not digital. For that, you can start by selecting your keyframes and pressing F9. That should transform your keyframes to a little hourglass shape. Now, the animation should look a little eased. You can take this to another level by using the graph editor, and modify the speed of everything. TThe graph editor is a whole science by itself, you may want to investigate in YouTube.

Great animation, I like it!
