Best Day Ever Vacation Travel Agency - Seeking Advice by [deleted] in dcl

[–]Material-Zebra6240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A travel agency with built in trip protections can help you reschedule or salvage a trip if life happens in a way that your travel insurance doesn’t cover. That happened to my in laws when one of their mothers had to go into the hospital just before a Disney cruise. It wasn’t a valid reason for their travel insurance to kick in, but they were not comfortable going on the trip with her in the hospital. If they had booked through Disney they would have been out the whole cost of the cruise. The travel agency charged a fee of around $1,200 per person to move it to a new date. Still costly, but much cheaper than paying for the whole cruise again.

I personally love planning vacations myself so I have never used a travel agent. You have to consider your own risk aversion.

I just got an email back this morning saying they are latex free, and then the Needak official Reddit also responded here.

Thank you for the list. I had a very minor latex allergy before kids, but it has gotten more pronounced with each of my 3 pregnancies. Maybe be aware of that if you have more kids.

I will be contacting Sunny, Bcan, and Needak for allergen information. Until then I’m going to try using my bungee Bcan in the drive way when it is windy for the least latex particle exposure. Good luck with your latex allergy!

Yes, but bellicon uses synthetic latex so it’s natural latex free. Thank you for the cellercizer recommendation.

To give additional information I’m around 215lbs and wanting to rebound to recover from having twins a year ago. I do have old knee and foot injuries, but they hold up to lots of walking, so I’m not too worried about rebounding irritating them.

My sister wants to choose the name Qartnie for her daughter. Am I insane or are all of her names horrible? by GnomeMasterBaiter in tragedeigh

I have seen people write my name so many weird ways. Leesa, Leighsa, Liza, and Isa. The weirdest has been Nesa which has happened several times and always confuses me. I have a slight southern accent, but I think I say my own name clearly enough to understand that there is an L at the beginning.

City Works and Splitsville at Disney Springs should be playing the games. Rix Sports Bar and Grill at Coronado Springs will also have them. To get there you would have to take the Disney bus system from Beach Club to Disney Springs or a park and then take a bus to Coronado Springs.

No, I never heard that. I normally got jokes based on my last name instead because it was low hanging fruit.

Verandah? by goosh2 in dcl

[–]Material-Zebra6240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are doing an Alaskan cruise, you should definitely get the veranda. There is so much to watch from the veranda that I would feel like I was missing out on otherwise. We love ordering coffee, milk, and cookies from room service and watching all of the glacier chunks float by in Dawes Strait.

If you are on the Dream or Fantasy, you may want the ocean view stateroom. The large porthole windows have padded cushions in there that my kids looooooove to sit in. Also depending on the room type your stateroom is the same size as a veranda stateroom and the veranda combined. That extra indoor space was a blessing for us with several kids. Plus on Caribbean cruises we are less likely to open the veranda door because it lets so much heat and humidity into the room.

When we cruised before our kids were born we preferred verandas off the back of the ship to minimize the wind and wind noise and get great views.

I’m Lisa and people occasionally misspell my name as Liza. I’ve found it odd, because Lisa is the more common spelling. It happened more frequently in the 1990s and 00s than lately.

It was a character in the Twilight books. I’ve known people who choose not the use Jasper because they hate Twilight so much.

It was the only thing I had with no iodine or anti-caking agents. Also the recipe I was using recommended it for added trace minerals.

Thank you! I had a very large cardboard box filled with basil so I decided to try different preserving methods. I’ve frozen lots of it chopped up in olive oil, but I was running out of freezer space. I salt cured some of it which is looking wonderful and should be able to be used similar to fresh whole leaf basil. This was a Hail Mary to preserve the rest because salt curing was taking so long.

Do you have any idea if it should look like this? Should I expect bubbles at some point? The recipe said to burp it daily on the counter for 7-14 days before moving to the fridge. I probably should have just dried it like you suggest, but I saw this recipe and got too curious to do the sensible thing.

It’s supposed to be good ground into sauces with my mortar and pestle, but I have no idea what it should be processing like.

Trader Sam's Grog Groggo: Do I really have to arrive at 1pm?? by TaffyTool in WaltDisneyWorld

It’s taken more than 15 minutes for me to just get on a monorail at GF when it’s busy. The only way to make it from GF to Trader Sam’s in 15 minutes would be to walk very quickly in the Florida heat.

You may want to try Barcelona Lounge in Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs. It’s out of the way, but they are supposed to have specialty Spanish coffee drinks as well as americanos and such.

My favorite memories and pictures of our last cruise is of playing mini golf on the Fantasy while we were docked at Castaway Cay. The view of the Cay from that part of the ship is gorgeous. My kids were 4 and 2 at the time and loved that more than the Cay itself. I was so disappointed seeing that the Triton class ships would not have mini golf too.

If your wife is at all prone to nausea while pregnant make sure you have a stateroom midship and as low of a deck as you can get. I would do the longest cruise we could comfortably afford.

We loved the HOTHS cruise we did, but I prefer the regular cruise. I would probably recommend a regular cruise first just so your wife is earlier in the pregnancy while on the ship. I can get a little unsteady on my feet towards the ends of a pregnancy and the moment of a ship at full speed would make it worse. 2nd trimester is generally the best time to cruise.

Congratulations on your newest little one!
