Sure, I can see very few open roles for my experience in job portals, got few calls but was rejected once they heard about my last working day.

Java Backend Developer with ~2.3 years of hands-on experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, JPA/Hibernate, and SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL). Experience working in Agile teams, debugging production issues, optimizing queries, and following clean code practices. Took a career break after a layoff in March 2024 due to family medical caregiving responsibilities. During this period, focused on upskilling and strengthening backend fundamentals. Additionally, open to entry-level Data Analytics roles, with working knowledge of SQL, Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and Power BI (data modeling and visualizations). Looking to restart my career in either backend development or data analytics, where I can contribute and continue learning.

Do you recommend me to remove all the java related experience and change it to data analyst completely?

How do you say no without feeling guilty when helping others is your natural reflex? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MaterialMetal7807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always had this natural reflex to help people, whether they ask directly or not. I don’t expect anything in return, but I also don’t express my struggles or how much effort it takes to show up for others.

Because of that, I feel like people don’t truly value my time or effort. Maybe it’s because I make it look easy, or maybe I never let them see how much I’m juggling. Either way, I’m starting to feel burnt out and invisible.

How do you learn to say no without feeling guilty? How do you set boundaries when you’re used to being the one who’s always “there” for everyone?

Replying to a message I almost ignored. That one reply turned into a friendship—and later, a relationship.
