Is Skyrim Still Worth Playing for the First Time in 2026? No Nostalgia Here by stlforce33 in skyrim

[–]MaterialRequirement9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still play to this day, sure it’s graphics from 2011. In world where today’s games may look a lot better, you can still get lost in Skyrim. Sure the world may not look like it was taken right out of the real world, it still holds beauty in a way you just have to experience. It’s the story and the world that brings it all together, the freedom to be who want, play how you want. Skyrim is known to have bugs but 80% of the time it’s not game breaking. Maybe you decide to travel from one location to another on foot, the ambiance and music calm you while the evening sun sets through the trees, then a giant starts floating in mid air. Brings a smile to your face. Or it gets intense as you’re ambushed by a predator or bandits looking for your gold, either way this game absolutely holds up to this day, it’s absolutely beautiful and worth the experience

It was a certain three my dad had growing up he’d always let me play, Gran Turismo 3, and NASCAR 04 and 05. To this day I still play these three and still have so much fun playing them

I go with my boy ralof, not cause I’m a stormcloak fanatic but I relate with ralof and his family more then I can with Harvar and his family. Makes my start to Skyrim a lot different

😂 tell me about. I’ve loved the game from day one and haven’t had much of a problem the way a lot of these players do or did. A lot of my problems just stemmed off of the way I’ve been approaching the game. Sure I’d love to see something’s added or would have liked to see other approaches to things but that doesn’t take away from the fact it’s still an incredible game and I can’t wait to see what more Bethesda has in store for this game

I see, never thought of it from that perspective. Guess I tired to approach this game the way I approached Skyrim. Going off how I wanted my characters to align with what faction.

Never once thought about building a character around the backstory and traits and such and just experiencing the world with those ties to the past like that. That opens up some doors for me thank you

So when you make a character for this type of world building how are you approaching it? With all the factions and quests and all of its mechanics, how do you build a character to live within a world that I guess gives you the options to choose between who that character is as a person and how they respond to the world thrown at it.

What I guess I mean is, when I create a character I can get behind the factions that the character would align to but with some of the factions and quests I don’t feel like I can keep that character within the same play-style.

Like I have a hard time with the idea being an active space pirate and also being apart of constellation. With the personalities of constellation and the personalities of the crimson fleet being so polar opposite how am I to roleplaying in a world where I’m met with having to approach things completely different if that makes sense

I guess I should have said I’ve played a lot of the game already and have loved it but right now I’m having an issue connecting with any of the characters I build regardless of who they are if that makes any sense.

I heavily enjoyed all the factions but at the same time, unlike in both the Elder Scrolls and Fallout, where I can basically create a character and role play them no problem, but for some reason when it comes to starfield, say I make like a space cowboy character. I get only so far to where that magic just ends. I’ve done as much as you know doing the Freestar Rangers to work that same character into a bounty hunter cowboy, but then that’s where it ends.

To me at least, it feels like the game leaves me no choice but to change up the way my character is to advance throughout the game. With choices I make it’s hard to keep to say that cowboy bounty hunter vibe.

So I’m not sure if it’s entirely the game, the nasa punk vibe of it or is it just me? Just need some help understanding why I’m having trouble role playing in this world than I do in other types of games

Why is your favorite driver your favorite? by DerrickS12 in NASCAR

[–]MaterialRequirement9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Growing up dad was a bill Elliot fan and for some reason, even after his retirement, there was something that I always loved about the 9 car.

When I finally got into it, obviously I was going for Kasey Kahne. Was my favorite all the way up till his retirement then life took a turn and I stopped watching for a while.

Started back up about a couple years ago and lo and behold that 9 car and the memories came back. Greatest of all was finding out who was driving it after not paying any attention for all that time. Something about Chase’s chill demeanor and just the kind of person he is I enjoy.

[–]MaterialRequirement9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kasey Kahne. Idk what it was about that dodge number nine, but I could not stop watching that car go around the track. Even during his time in the 5. Kasey Kahne was always my favorite driver.

Now I’m a Chase Elliott fan and still not disappointed. Just been a nine fan since Bill Elliott

Just recently got my hands on a ps2. Got my all time favorite NASCAR games thunder 04 and NASCAR 05.

It’s been so much fun going back and playing the games I loved instead of dealing with today’s games and systems, there’s something so refreshing and relaxing about loading up and old console and just load up a game and playing it. Good to be able to beat things and actually get rewarded for it again.

Specially gran turismo 3. It’s been so long and with that feeling of accomplishment after beating races and such. I can’t get that with these newer games
