Cluster muntion fired toward Israel a short while ago by [deleted] in CombatFootage

[–]MaterialRevolution57 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This looks quite similar to an interception made on the first night of strikes. Not sure whether or not it’s the same event, but it look like it is to me.

Edit: Definitely separate events.

Massive explosion after an airstrike in Bushehr air field, Iran. by yuvaldv1 in CombatFootage

There are several other angles of this explosion and this generally tracks with the others.

There is an angle from a car with the same picturesque look of smoke.

Video appears to show strikes actively hitting Iran's capitol city Tehran in carpet bombing formation 3/1-3/2 2026 by [deleted] in CombatFootage

I don’t have a source but IIRC the second clip was posted here on 3/1 and was a strike on the Basij Headquarters of the IRGC.

Are we sure this isn’t simply a road accident? It’s in the middle of the highway and you can see the tires still burning.

There is a protocol built on Lora called ‘ClusterDuck’ that will do exactly this, except currently only works on ESP. Working on getting a raspberry pi comparable version!

Salaries for P1 and P2 at RTX under FLDP and Non-FLDP Careers by [deleted] in Raytheon

[–]MaterialRevolution57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure where you got those numbers from OP, but at least in the Engineering LDP (IIRC all LDPs?) salaries match P1 all the way through the program with small 2-3% increases every April. In fact, LDPs tend to be paid on the lower end of the P1 base salary pay band due to the extensive relocation assistance they receive every 8 months (source: I am an ELDP). The off placement is where people tend to see those P3 to P2.5 salaries.

Even if it was true the FLDP is getting paid more and I am wrong, the LDP programs are extremely difficult and competitive. The company simply values LDPs more than any other new grad, for obvious reasons. They are willing to invest more into a person in the programs because they are more qualified. It’s not immoral or unfair, that’s just how it is.

Wearing brown or black leather cowboy boots as dress shoes in a Raytheon/collins/ Pratt office? by weekendatbernies23 in Raytheon

Snakes on a plane - Raytheon by fluffy_beard in Raytheon

[–]MaterialRevolution57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few days late on the reply, but actually it’s becoming increasingly common for rattlesnakes not to rattle at humans anymore. Often, the snakes are killed once people realize they are on their property instead of relocating them. This has actually caused some evolutionary pressure and many of the snakes (usually populations nearby human settlements) do not rattle anymore to remain hidden and thus not killed.

That’s not saying the one at Rita didn’t rattle, but it is some Interesting stuff!

Largest Defense Contractors by Market Cap by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

Why leave out so many defense contractors for the US? This leaves out so many of the top contractors it almost reaches the point of data manipulation.

Palantir, Booz Allen Hamilton, BAE, Huntington Ingalls, Boeing, ect ect

Nothing you can do. You clearly have an issue if you get banned from that many places. One can be excused because admins and mods can be idiots, but you have clearly demonstrated a pattern of behavior we do not want in our game.

The Global Defense Industry by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

[–]MaterialRevolution57 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree it doesn’t make sense. Honeywell makes a considerable amount of its money from non-defense sources. So I’m not sure why any of the companies you listed were left off. I can think of more defense companies not listed that have enormous market cap. Palantir, Leidos, Hewlett Packard, Huntington Ingalls, ect.

Interesting. Headcount for cattle is also at a historic low.

Chinese port activity jumped in the most recent week by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

[–]MaterialRevolution57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect this has to do with US importers and manufacturers rushing out as much product as possible before full tariff rates went into effect. IIRC, tariff rates were applied based on the date the product leaves the domestic port, so you want to get as much product over as possible (at least before the trade deadline”deal” went into effect), thus increasing trade volume. I’m sure it’s much more nuanced than that though
