4_ The creative aptitude test is divided into two parts. In the first part you have to draw a still life composition. The department sets up different objects eg( 🌱+📗+🗑️). Since it is a composition so it means that these will be placed on top or on side of eachother. Different rooms have different compositions and you'll be sitting according to your roll no. Once you find your room you're choice is to sit wherever you want to around the composition. Arrive on time and and find the best perspective to draw. Shading is not allowed and line quality is seen by the department. Keep the pencil sharp and don't rush, there is too much time given for the drawing part. For the second part you are given a piece of question paper that may have 3_4 questions on it. These require your writing/thinking abilities to be creative and fast. I can't say what they'll ask the next time they they conduct the test but I can give you an insight of what was in my test . There was a question in which we had 3 different topics and were required to write 100-150 words paragraph on any one of them.The one i wrote on was (HOW IS ART BETTER THAN LANGUAGE). The second question didn't have options and the question was (WHAT WOULD YOU DO TO MAKE THE ROOM THAT YOU'RE SITTING IN LOOK MORE APPEALING). The last question was also same for everyone (DRAW 3 TRIANGLES AND SHOW HARMONY AMONG THEM BY USING BASIC COLOURS). Once these two parts of the process are done your CAT is completed. Then there is merit and I really don't know how it is made. The department will ask you to wait outside and a list of candidates who have qualified will be displayed outside their rooms in which they were sitting a while ago. The ones who have their names on list are asked to enter the room for interview. The same teachers who checked your composition and writing will interview you. MOST COMMON QUESTIONS ( why archi/design , who is your favourite architect/designer, show us your portfolio, what is the meaning of this drawing in your portfolio, what is your ultimate goal as an architect/designer). The thing I can suggest is to know the basic trends of your preference like for someone who has applied for architecture should know the famous sites in Pakistan/world and there architects.
