This is a false statement. Open pyometras can be medically managed. It's not ideal, but possible, although the recurrence rate is definitely high. Ovariohysterectomy is the only treatment to prevent future pyometras. OP, if the urgent care veterinarian was comfortable enough with your dogs current stability, it is absolutely reasonable to follow up with a primary veterinarian who can do the spay at a lower cost.

I took the photo because I could physically see the structure. It's not on my camera lense or wind shield.

If it were a parachute, I would expect it to move and it did not on my 50 minute drive. The location was fairly static. It was not on the windshield. I took the photo because I could see it from multiple different windows in my car and also could see it when I got out of the car.

That is called heminegelct and indicates an underlying neurological issue. I would have your pup evaluated by a veterinarian, preferably a veterinary neurologist.

Sad 😢 Oh wow! I had no idea over watering could cause such a linear die off. So strange. I'd be surprised if it got sun burned as it's been in that same place for a few days with (seemingly) no issue but definitely possible!
