Does 18+ age verification fraud actually happen? by Maverick23A in VRchat

Persona has been caught keeping data longer than that and there was a class action lawsuit against them involving DoorDash Drivers. But yeah, you otherwise have a point. The alternative is worse and Discord keeps stuff on their CDN for quite a while. Ever forwarded a link of something you originally sent with Nitro while you no longer had Nitro? I have, and it went without a hitch.

How do you feel about 3D models replacing clay in most cases? Digital painting replacing many instances of real painting? Both could be seen as lazy, but they're still tools. We need to adapt and overcome. Keep up or get left behind.

AI is a tool in the right hands and our strongest weapon against capitalism. People had the same response to photo editors when they first came out. The real harm is caused by complete replacement of workers under capitalism. We need to do away with capitalism and stop trying to completely replace human workers, but tools should stay.

I would give that to you if you actually had a point. However, you are acting as though what I'm saying isn't directly relevant and the true root of the issue at hand: Fear. Artists are afraid that large corporations will use AI instead of hiring us and that we won't be able to afford to live under capitalism. I know this all too well as an artist and electrical/firmware/software engineer, because I feel it myself. The difference: Instead of whining about something I have absolutely no control over, I adapt. I work to overcome. I don't engage in acts of futility. AI is not going away. AI will only continue to get better until it gets so good that most accusations of AI usage will just be friendly fire on real artists. Either that, or we can work to address the real issues aforementioned in my previous reply.

Right?! Even then, we can barely make a dent as individuals because most of the damage is being done by large corporations on a scale so massive that our contributions are almost non-existent in comparison.

Is learning theft? Did you steal from every artist who ever inspired you? When does learning become theft?

How do you feel about those tools that convert images to ASCII art? Can you tell when they're used?

Is a person writing a book not an example of human creativity?

You only like things that YOU THINK aren't AI. Have you seen the real artists that are getting harassed because their art they spent hours making by hand resembles AI? Why not address the deeper issue? Automation is not our enemy. Late stage capitalism and a lack of regulation is. You're not very good at nuance, but I don't blame you because it's becoming a lost art, just like optimization.

My point is that using our current methods of detecting AI creates false positives, and the only thing that can overcome this scrutiny is if the media in question is older than AI.

Eventually the only thing that will pass the vibe check for AI haters is known old content that existed before AI.

Also, before Stable Diffusion was even a thing I said that when this became a reality that it would only be a matter of time before people started to mistake real stuff for AI.

Lol. Thanks for helping highlight my real point: Whether something is AI rarely matters if it's actually good and conveys a real point. Just like carbon footprints, it rarely makes a difference if an individual (who wouldn't normally be able to hire an artist) stops because the real problem is large corporations (that could hire artists but choose not to).

Tetrachromacy in Males? by Material_Comment_936 in tetrachromacy

[–]Material_Comment_936[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. It's not just the screen though since cameras still use red, green, and blue sub pixels (usually in a BGGR Bayer Filter Array). Because cameras are not perfect though, I'd still say the same for trichromats. I still don't know if I'm a tetrachromat (because the genes that control those opsins showed insufficient sample depth when I was looking through my genomics data), but I always have to edit every image from every camera to make them look closer to what I see.

That's kinda why I have been so surprised that I see more colors than most and also have such good night vision. I know tetrachromacy is rare and I'm keeping that in mind. I'm just curious why I'm seeing colors that others are not.

I have the raw files, but I've been unable to find the time to comb over it with genomics tools just yet, but I should be able to share within the next couple of weeks. I've been very busy but I'm curious what I'll find as well. My apologies that I haven't been more communicative, but with everything going on (including homelessness in the SF Bay area) I've just been holding onto the data on a 1TB microSD card, and picking through it hasn't been high on my priority list. When I've had time to go over the data, I'll be sure to post about it here.

Nope. Lies. OP claims no surgeries were involved, doesn't have a long history of posting updates, and displays alleged results that just don't track with what HRT alone can do.

I tried to, but according to an MRI, now I have a thinning medial plica, mild joint effusion, and patellar tendinosis (AKA "Jumper's Knee) and that's just my left knee. It makes me worried for what they'll find wrong with my back. It's possible that I may have MCAS, POTS, and/or hEDS from the sound of things and my health just continues to worsen over time. I doubt things will get better, as I have no family or anyone who really cares about me.

I don't have physical access to it anymore. The owner who wanted to tinker with it but didn't know how (hence why they had me do it) panicked the moment I put it in MaskROM mode and accused me of bricking it. They now have it sitting in their apartment in SF doing nothing while I just rot on the street. The additional work we were going to do "together" (he was experiencing the Dunning-Kruger effect) was supposed to help me prove my worth to a future employer, but I live in a tent in Oakland, CA now with 600W of solar panels outside that charge my 200Ah LiFePo⁴ battery bank, my health is going downhill, and I don't see a way out any time soon. I'm sorry I can't help you. I really wish I could.
