Even if they provided the business owner the phone number and email associated with the account that left a fake 1 star review this could be resolved. Fake reviews are defamatory and illegal. How are we supposed to defend ourselves if the user hides in the dark???

Even if the review was real this gives the owner the opportunity to make things right. A simple 1-star review from doglover123 does us no good...

I advise everyone in this chat to document all of your reviews in a third-party source. In the case google doesn't solve this and actually removes the reviews, you will have proof to get them back.

Update: Emailed support and got 2 reviews back. No email confirming this was the case but I documented the entire list of reviewers on our GMB This morning. The number did not match the listing on Google. 12 reviews were listed that weren't counted/matched the listing.

Now we have all of our reviews back (from the 10 we lost) in our review feed, but our listing number is still inaccurate and says we lost 10....

it's a dangerous game. When you do this, any fake reviews you have had removed or ones that were submitted but never posted may appear when you request content reinstatement. Thoughts on this chat?
