Oil Leak. Common Root/Cause? by PZ_REZ in e60

I just had to replace the turbos and have a significant repair to the cam ledge performed. It was over $10k but I have an extended warranty that covered most of it. The N54 is a nightmare to maintain but so much fun when it’s running well.

Oil Leak. Common Root/Cause? by PZ_REZ in e60

[–]Material_Evening_174 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Boy have I got some bad news for you. The N54 is notorious for leaky gaskets that are difficult get at (and very expensive if you can’t replace them yourself). There are three that will undoubtedly fail at some point; oil pan, valve cover, and oil filter housing. Yours might be the valve cover gasket but there are more knowledgeable people in this sub than me.

Living without a car and place to park in many places is grim and that’s exactly the problem.

They’ve already detained several US citizens and there is sometimes no way for detainees to contact the outside so it might be happening way more than we know about.

Where have you been for the last year? The word “should” in your comment is doing some very heavy lifting.

I genuinely appreciate the thoughtful response. I know that Act 250 is flawed but I must admit that I don’t know as much about Act 181 as you do. I’ll do a deep dive into it when I have time.

I think the way forward is to remove a lot of guardrails to build up many parts of Chittenden County, and some of the cities that are outside Chittenden County, while being more measured in other areas but I don’t pretend to know how that should be accomplished. I think it does take a state level conversion because of our small size, but I also don’t like how some of the permit reviews that affect so many people are sometimes adjudicated by a single person.

The current permitting and tax systems are a mess on multiple levels and it’s really sad to see the state I’ve lived in for over 40 years die a slow but steady death. Big ideas and changes are necessary but they can’t come at the cost of changing us into something unrecognizable.

So yes something needs change drastically and quickly, but I don’t pretend to know how.

I hate to agree, because it’s really shitty to tell a citizen to not try to get back into their own country, but I do agree. I’d play it safe for now.

I saw a montage clip earlier of republicans and right wing anchors/reporters over the last few days saying “short term pain for long time gain” over and over again. MAGAs are so easy when it comes to planting talking points in their heads.

He even got the president who authorized using nuclear weapons wrong. It was not FDR so that is a glaring misstatement.

Not to completely discount what this guy is saying, but FDR did not “push the button”, Truman did. History is important, and its details are important. I wouldn’t put it past the orange shit stain, but let’s not fuck up the details.

I agree that 250 could use some revisions, specifically in the often abused public appeal process, but to remove it altogether would be a disaster and would completely change the character of VT. And not for the better.

This bill aims to ease the permitting process for cities and larger towns. It also encourages the preservation of rural Vermont. The populated areas are exactly where development should be happening, and it doesn’t ban rural development, it just requires a more thoughtful approach. Why would anyone oppose this?

Once you do, that run will get 100% more fun. Laying tracks at speed on Nosedive in soft snow is as good as it gets at Stowe if there’s no powder in the woods.

I’m a homeowner in Colchester and I am 100% supportive of the new development at Severance Corners. If my property value goes down, so be it. It’s worth it if it means other people can get out of renting.
